Lost cheques in quick cheque deposit box

The bank did not even call to notify that there is 1 cheque short in the QCD. And it wasn't found till we checked the bank's balance and follow through with the bank that they found the "missing" cheque still inside the envelop.

Just inform the finance dept bank lost the cheque. Your company will have records the chq number that was issued to you. Any chq you submit at the counter, although they give u a receipt, they'll still dump it into the Quick chq deposit box too.
And if its lost, you can go complain to the bank with the receipt, but there's nothing they can do. You still have to get your company to issue another chq. -

Last time when I deposit cheque at the counter they also never give any receipt lah. They just update the amount into your bankbook and your bankbook is the evidence. -

chq clearing is an extremely tedious process, even with the new CTS process.
Signatures have to compared manually, dates, the figures must telly with the numbers, account number at the back, etc.
Some of the most common errors are the figures do not telly with the numbers, wrong acc numbers at the back of the chq, wrong signatures.
It makes it worst when people drop the chq into the wrong bank, because they keep looking at the drawer bank logo and forgot about their own. -

So this QCD is really quite bad wz this particular bank of ours. So you really need to monitor your bank balances carefully here. -

You will need these envelops becos they have a copy of the banked in cheque details. ENVELOP IS NOT NECESSARY.
NOW BANK DO AWAY WITH MANY THINGS.
AT THE BACK OF THE CHECK, JUST A/C NO. WILL DO. NO NEED TEL, NO NEED COMPANY NAME
EVEN NOWADAYS SIGN CHECK ALSO NO NEED TO STAMP COMPANY STAMP. -
Today I queued up at posb bank counter to deposit my cross cheque and they told me that they no longer accept cross cheque at the counter. They only accept cash cheque deposit at the counter. They also told me that now they no longer clear cross cheque at the bank but all the banks in singapore will bring the crossed cheques to a place in robinson road to clear.
Got a few years since I last went to the bank to deposit cross cheque so didn't know that they got such a new rule.
Is it all the banks in singapore now no longer accept cross cheque deposit at counter? What is the reason why they want to bring all the cheques to robinson to clear?
What if halfway the vehicle kana accident and the cheque boxes all spilt open and the cheques all fly out?
I think it is a really bad idea to transfer all cheques to 1 place to clear.
