Expensive school prom night

haha. my sec sch one was nice. formal dressing though its only in the sch hall but we dont have to pay anything.. once the hall decorated till nice nice, it really looks like a "ballroom" kind le.. food is buffet style but alot alot alot to eat.

Thats because most people care about standing all from the rest..if only they dressed simply.I wore my father's formal clothing.

my primary school, teck whye primary, got... my batch was the first batch who is able to enjoy the prom night... yea it was called prom night too lol... well we played what kids normally play there, catching! lol

every class has a cake each... we take the cake and throw each other instead of eating
well...
for sec school, i'm sec 4 this year and those express have prom night and we are also invited to go... but... lol no ppl go...
next year our real prom night i also think we wont go instead we will plan a party ourself

Haiz...don't understand why everytime somebody say something slightly negative about their school, fellow forumers will accuse the TS of being unappreciative. Why nobody go to the 'politics' forum and accuse everyone there of being unappreciative of the government? Besides, I never scold the school or say it sucks without giving proper evidence or anything like that. I was just asking why a school's prom night has to be so expensive and suggesting that a cheaper one will do.

Actually, $70 to $80 for prom night is still okay if we pay by installment. But for some school...it's way more than $100 (can't remember the exact amount)...that's different. -

That pricing is already standard, you can't change it. Either you take it or leave it.
And, almost everyone here is already unappreciative of the govt. -

My school also pay by installment, three times. But still quite expensive. -
Well, considering that an all guys' seniors dinner is always a riot... was quite worth it to see the shenanigans. We still recall those heady days when we catch up.

but the problem is, it only WITHIN 2 months mah...
depends how long ur installment is.
1st month 20
the other 2 months, continue with the 60. -
My tickets are only $75 each because the school is paying for most of the expenses. It's at Raffles which is a pretty nice place. The expensive part was the outfit though, suits cost between $300-$500. If it were up to me I'd just go to the after party lol only $30 to rent the chalet for the night + drinks.

when other schools to high class hotel you all will admire and say wah they so good stuffs like that when your school goes so many ppl complain its just a once in a live time thing and when you leave the school and go poly and jc you might not even get a chance to catch up with them again. i'm not rich but i can say that its worth the money if you guys can enjoy the night one last time with your friends.

my sis got her dress for $14 bucks btw, and it looks gorgeous.
its not how much you spend, its what you spend on. alot of the kids just spend and spend end up spending $400 on a lousy night with lousy food... money not easy to come by for most people leh. -
Prom Night - Just another attempt from the school to show how they have kept up to date with the trend and to show how much the students value to them
Get a hotel room...gather 10 or more of your closer friends..waste the night away...priceless
