they've got a nice theatre btw^^ i like. even though nt of much help cuz all the lights n mics in the wrong place or sth ...
i think i die ler. everyone says JJ cheena ... JJ is nearest JC to my house .. no poly or jc nearby ... - worried - nt gonna do science either ... most likely arts. sian, don't wish to sarcifice sleep time

im currently going to J2 in JJ next eyar, what i can say is well, its not as cheena as people make it up to be lah...still quite okay, just that it happens to be the language center or something so it naturally has to place slightly more emphasis in that area compared to other JCs, but i would say its an ok school on the whole, the teachers are REAL helpful in that sense that they could be helping u behind your back when they are like hecking you in the front.But on the whole its quite ok, just that the facillities i dont really like...abit old

Nobody has answered me yet...is it true that CJC is a very religious college?
It seems to be so when I read about the school from wikipedia leh...the principals had always been christians, their college mission includes forming concience in students with accordance to the catholic tradition, their school song sounds quite religious also, and their college crest also.
So what about the non-catholic students in that college? wouldn't they feel marginalised?
and a religious school can exist in the strictly secular state of singapore one meh? -

well, i would say no, cjc is not a very religious college. but who am i to say? i've been in catholic schools the last 11 yrs.( De la salle, SJI, CJC) so maybe im used to it. but what we simply do is just a prayer every assembly. for the catholics, (im not one) they have to go for 1 or 2retreats in J1, not sure about j2. there are short services for catholics, non cats are welcome too every special occasion.Originally posted by annoy-you-must:Nobody has answered me yet...is it true that CJC is a very religious college?

for Student devp. prog, the catholics are grouped together for a different, more spiritual view of morality etc etc etc. but no one pays attention la.
im a non catholic, protestant, and i dont feel marginalised. rather it is the catholics who dulan, cuz they have to go for this extra, that extra.
cjc is not a religious school.
sji is much more spiritual than cjc will ever be -
i never had a good impression of either jc but if given these two i would definitely choose cjc.

I dont understand why you wanna go CJC, kinda normal college, I mean cant you see they are always behind AC & SA. "Wannabe" I would rather use this word. I seriously don't think lowering requirement of L1R5 can get more good students to enroll to the college. So if your L1R5 is good, pick AC, SA or even RJ. If not so good, then MI no choice, but then you will get a dip. and a level when you finish the course, also not too bad.
Can't agree more with them that you need to pick a nearer JC to go. JC life is tough. So you wanna wake at 710 or 530?
