How do you know a ebay seller can be trusted?

  i have this thing i wanted to buy on ebay. it's almost $300 so i'm very concerned how trusted-worthy this seller is.
  
  but when i view his feedback rating, it's all 100% positive feedbacks. and i also noticed most of the feedbacks are made by the same person.
  
  i'm beginning to wonder can it be that the seller create a clone account to buy all his ebay stuffs and then leave a positive rating?
  
  anyone here here has similar experiences to share? or any advices for me?

  How much rating does the person have. If I were to buy something this expensive, I would look for about at least 50 closed sales before I consider.

  i did a check and found that he sell at yahoo auction as well. only 3 closed deals.
  
  out of the 3 deals, 1 is closed on the same day within 5 minutes. buyer leave a good rating.

  another one is closed within 1 day. the buyer's name is jason00935, too much of concidence i say. his ebay nick is jason toys store and the buyer is also of the name jason.

  somemore all the 3 buyers who leave the rating are all unrated. KNN, comfirmmed is create clones to vote for himself.

  look at his volumes, if hes selling thousands of things then probably hes a real seller, if he just registered a few days ago and the first thing he is selling is a super laptop for $300 then confirm is fake.
  
  also read the comments on the people who comment on him, lets say even the people who comment on the people who comment on him (WTF tongue twister) are the same people, then its fishy.
  
  but then again, I only ever bought 1 thing on Ebay, so I made all of the above stuff up, sue me.

  Read the policy properly. Make sure your purchase is covered too.
  
  According to your link, the selling has so far sold to 91 buyers and they give all positive feedbacks.
  
  If you are using credit card to access the Paypal, also look at your credit card's member protection policies.
