if that's the case, i won't pay.Originally posted by jonchao72:if the seller can give u the goods be4 u pay!![]()
Do CODOriginally posted by Gordonator:i have this thing i wanted to buy on ebay. it's almost $300 so i'm very concerned how trusted-worthy this seller is.
but when i view his feedback rating, it's all 100% positive feedbacks. and i also noticed most of the feedbacks are made by the same person.
i'm beginning to wonder can it be that the seller create a clone account to buy all his ebay stuffs and then leave a positive rating?
anyone here here has similar experiences to share? or any advices for me?
thanks for all the help.

thanks for the advice (and the others who helped too).Originally posted by storywolf:How to judge a ebay seller.
1) Look at the seller sales record - at least over 40 sales.
2) Check his transaction - look at the buyers.
Check where they are from .... your case look ok , got buyer from germany...also and other countries , not from taiwan only. that is good.
3) check his previous sales - check how the bidding goes - You will see if this is an honest seller . Why, if you keep seening a few same bidder that comes in to jack up the price .... than better be careful - as he may be using a few ids to jack up his price, if you bid. Then you better be prepare to pay more for it.
4) Look at his good listing. Why .... the moment you put up things for sales on ebay .... unless there is a special promotion offer free listing...., the seller would have to incurred money to list on ebay already... If this seller have a good size of items listed that mean he has already committed money into ebay .... which mean make no sense of him running off with your item, as it will be like paying $100 to try to cheat you out of $300.
definitely better!Originally posted by Gordonator:thanks for the advice (and the others who helped too).
there's another seller selling it as well.

the price is about the same but this one don't accept bids from new members with 0 ratings. what do u think of this one.
this one sounds to me more safer to buy from.

Everyday is a learning day & usually you check the seller's feedback to have some judgements but gotta remind you, fragile items may arrive in several pieces when you received it due to the way the postal agencies handles them or the seller may not pack properly or some, purposely put the broken pieces & send them to you (those dirty buggers)...anyway, hope you receive the item in mint conditionOriginally posted by Gordonator:hi guys, first thanks all again who helped me with their advices.
learnt quite a lot regarding ebay and paypal.
anyway i have already bought the item from this seller below.
looks trustworthy. his e-mail responses is very prompt.
now lets wait for the item to arrive and see how is the quality.
now that u mentioned it, they can blame it on the delivery company when in actual fact they are the one who put in the broken pieces.Originally posted by SMRT Buses:Everyday is a learning day & usually you check the seller's feedback to have some judgements but gotta remind you, fragile items may arrive in several pieces when you received it due to the way the postal agencies handles them or the seller may not pack properly or some, purposely put the broken pieces & send them to you (those dirty buggers)...anyway, hope you receive the item in mint condition![]()
yup, usually I buy mercedes die-casts models from ebay & you know lah, there's the small standing mercedes logo on the hood for some cars & that's fragile so I only get them if they come in the original boxes but then again, I always use the "ask seller a question" to ask questions before bidding...anyway, so far my experiences with the sellers are very gd & my feedback ratings are oso gdOriginally posted by Gordonator:now that u mentioned it, they can blame it on the delivery company when in actual fact they are the one who put in the broken pieces.
heard quite a lot of bad experiences from others as well. like if something is too cheap to be true, most likely it is. and 2nd hand stuffs as well.
but from the picture, the toy is stored with styrofoam so i'm not so worried.
anyway SMRT Buses have u bought from ebay? how are your experiences?![]()
i would love to but the item i want isn't on yahoo. at least on yahoo i can meet up with the seller and inspect the item.Originally posted by youyayu:use yahoo better
i see. have u ever returned stuffs which u found not to be of your expectation? will that means u have to folk out your own money to send it back?Originally posted by SMRT Buses:yup, usually I buy mercedes die-casts models from ebay & you know lah, there's the small standing mercedes logo on the hood for some cars & that's fragile so I only get them if they come in the original boxes but then again, I always use the "ask seller a question" to ask questions before bidding...anyway, so far my experiences with the sellers are very gd & my feedback ratings are oso gd![]()
well, so far I didn't have to return stuffs as it was all to my expectations or way above...guess so ba, the seller only will refund you the item price but who knows some kind sellers might just refund you the shipping price too but anyway, the best thing is to always ask when in doubt & insist for the original photo(s) of the item that you wanna buy so as to have a peace of mind...Originally posted by Gordonator:i see. have u ever returned stuffs which u found not to be of your expectation? will that means u have to folk out your own money to send it back?
and even if there's a refund from the seller, he probably can only return u the item price right and not the shipping right? quite a waste of money.
