one of my dad's friends, a lecturer at SP, told us of this incident.
It was a tourism related course, so the students were all 10 pointers or better. But, in a test he set for them, with questions like "What is the capital of Tokyo", he got answers like "Beijing". and its not because the students are cheeky, its that they have no general knowledge whatsoever.
but, if the only question in the test is "1 + 1 = __" and you fail, then you are undeniably stupid
Never heard of a question like "What is the capital of Tokyo".
Only heard of "What is the capital of Japan"![]()
No. I would say:" FUCK YOU!" to whichever guy who says that
You arent stupid if you fail exams.
But you are stupid if you dont work hard. Working hard is not just confined to studying. Working hard can refer to working life, buying stocks. Even buying 4d regularly is considered working hard.
If someone never bothered to buy 4d every week, then dont complain when the number come out on the week which he didnt buy.
Another eg: You can be a genius or you can have a gift of the gab. But if you never work hard to hold rallies, nobody is still gonna vote for you.
I have learning disability meaning trouble in processing the info from the brain to answer the questions correctly

that just means either you study wrongly, or you memorize purely without understanding.
I'm now assuming you are still a student.
Remedies
1) Do lots of questions to learn the application.
2) Make use of Homework Forum if the stuff are not too tough
3) Do teach and learn from your friends.

there could be other reasons as well. catknight may possibly be a late developer. some ppl are unable to grasp certain concepts even after repeated practice.

So far, the slowest of my past tuition students could catch up and score as long as they whacked questions after questions at a constant rate. That means no slacking. I have cases from fail to B3 in O levels... for physics... And I think that was because the mother took some of my advice and make sure her son did it.
But I have to admit... Scoring well doesn't mean understanding concepts. One can score well without even fully understanding. You must know how the system works.

off topic a bit: eagle, how you make your students not slack?
I think it would be truly 100% stupid if the person who failed the exam is CONVINCED that he/she is stupid just because he/she failed his/her exams.
It's just an exam, failed one...plenty more exams to retake. I believe even if the world were to end one day, it wouldn't even affect the exam date...cos exams are always planned so ahead of the end-of-the-world.
