From Construction Worker to Now Engineer

there is a construction worker from my work place who joined few yrs ago
The company let him attend many courses to upgrade and eventually he obtain a diploma at Ngee Ann poly with 3 As
He is now a asst Engineer n a PR
Morale of this story is that given the right opportunities + ownself hardwork anyone can excel

the bad news is:
as a construction worker, you're entitled to OT and that works out to about $2k a month.
as an diploma-engineer, you're not entitled to OT and still draws around $2k.
last time boss must think thrice before asking you to work OT, but now ... -
And also as an engineer, you are given more responsibility equal to more work and more stress, then you also may be the first to get retrenched or ask to go if the business is not good. if the story was a construction worker, got diploma, then took degree, have an MBA, work his up management and then be the company CEO and finally take over majority of the company then perhaps its a story worth telling.

My friend told me depends where you work also one
he work as a senior engineer head in ST ,he told me pay
more then 4k consider not much
It will be better to work in LTA or SMART -

last time also got 1 construction worker work so hard and feed alot of stray dogs..... then one fine day he go sing kara-ok then ppl see him quite yandao and make him a singer.... now he earned more than an engineer and his former boss......

he only contruction worker and with courses he able to be engineer.. good wat.
at least he wan to be in higher position. salary later on will be higher what.
but sadly nowadays ppl see how much money u can earn. even its a professional job but earn less.. ppl dun look at u also. -

last time i kid i play toys with action figures and building blocks my parents ask me what i doing i say playing they ask what i play i say construction site i a construction worker my parents quickly tell me stop playing go sleep or read a book now i uundestand why because now invetsed with bangras and anyone witha right mind avoids sweating under the sun.
what enigneer? like hooligan act paikia and a little bit coward. now ass long ass u get a site construction be preapred to see soil dug and left there until kingodm come. see chinatown area since 1998 dug until now still digging....seems like the aftemath of war as the gahmen when then can we have some peace -

A Dip holder working as a Senior Technical Officer ( some name it Manager ) can earn close to 5k. Some very lucky ones earn up to 6K but their salary scale is E grade. And this is GLC post.
