  Okay, im gonna say something, this topic which im going to say is explained by someone else.
  I hereby will not acknowledge this topic created by me, but was told by someone who shared it with us.. This is a free forum, so i believe its alright to share with everyone here...
  
  Do you notice why postitution is legal in Singapore? If you notice that, they are many foreign workers (e.g) India, china, indonesia, banglahdesh and etc.. If there's no postitution in S'pore, S'pore rape & molest cases will be rising high, Becoz the government actually allows postitution in S'pore, the country have very low rates of rape n molest cases.. Agree?
  (guess somehow or rather , you understand a little? right?)

  but....from what I kn....postitution was legalise 30 yrs ago liao....whereby...dont hv so much of foreign workers that time leh....

  it is not for foreign workers but the population at large.
  
  it is a known fact that men need a release for themselves. if there isn't an avenue, men will simply be driven by desperation in committing despicable acts.

  Hey, of course. There is no way SG will close the red light districts. Otherwise Men have no avenues to release their sexual urges. Sexual assualts will rise and our decent women will be hurt.
  
  Just take a look at the clamp down of massage parlours in SG. 1 year back, there was fierce clampdown on massage parlours who had binds and hidden compartments. Overnight, all these shops closed down. But now, take a look, these shops again with their sleazy binds all cropping up again. Why?   If you wanna stop something, making it illegal does not do it. It can easily still thrive underground if that thing has a purpose as TS has so wisely presented.
  
  So the next best thing to do is to allow it but impose the need for prostitutes to go for regular health checks. This enables the authorities to monitor ma.

  If SG government does not legalize prostitutions, it will go underground and out of their control. Even now with legalized prostitutions, there are still a lot of illegal prostitutions going on. Just like gambling, even with legalized toto, 4Ds, Soccer bets, etc, there are still illegal bookies around.
  
  Macau and Las Vegas are making tonnes of money from their casinos...so now SG is jumping on board as well to take a piece of the pie.
  
  By legalizing all these vices, the government at least have some control over them (like making sure the legal pros are given health checks monthly) and make money from them.
  
  It is a matter of if you can't beat them, join them and make some money out of it at the same time. SG government very clever one...

  By allowing prostitution to be legal, it allows people to vent out their sexual needs and hence, we see less of such illegal crimes being committed.
