hmmm .
i got a question for you all.
a student gets late for his assembly. an intention to skip it.
but eventually, he came back to the assembly and got punished for his traunt act.
and while they were walking around the parade square for their punishment.
DM shouted , "eh, Fat Guy!, get into the line"
The student asked for an apology, but DM refused.
reason because that student tried to skip assembly therefore not deserving his respect.
both ended with no one winning.
may i have all the public views ? =] THANKS !
there's no right or wrong answer.
eh same! but i did not get shouted at. actually such things can complain to principle if you are not happy with it. even if you break school rules he has no right to insult you. but after that you will get in to his bad books and maybe after this incident he will always aim you...
Flaunting the school rules does not give the DM an excuse to insult somebody.
IF you wanna complain, make it big. No problem.
Dm sure crawl to you say sorry. You can call your parents come school say, you hurt my child pride, make him cannot concentrate on studies.... etc etc..
Whereas later on she/he will make it diffcult for you(children itself) diffcult maybe...
If he is really FAT, theres nothing wrong what.
hmmm, this i reply to Y_Shun.
hmm .he's chubby and fat.
that's true.
but you can't claim that there is nothing wrong with that .
words can cause permenant damage to someone pride.
somemore it's a guy .
If you didn't even show respect to the school by going assembly, singing the national song, do you think we should even respect your friend?
I believe the DM has its reasons to do it. You should be lucky that your DM never one for all, all for one and your whole class kana.
dun think the DM is in the wrong, he was just being honest.
ur friend damn rude to confront the DM to apologise to him publicly. furthermore he broke the school rule.
hmm, i think you got a point there .
hahahahhas . but it's also rude barhs i guess.
cause there werent little people when the dm shouted there.

yup, even in IPPT FFC, or in the army, the instructors call everyone, Sir, or gentleman.
They should use the term "gentleman", "lady" or at least, "Mister". Even in US people also have the least respect to call people "Mister". :(

i believe the DM should called the plump student "hey you, student, blah blah" if he duno their names..

if i become the person i will just heck care the DM........make it look as if you didn't hear wot he said......i'd just respond to him only if he calls me by my name.......that should show him......

If i got DM liddat i will report it to the MOE.......its not reasonable to punish someone when they has done nothing wrong.......thats called abusing of power......
nowday secondary students definitely living such a comfortable life.![]()
comparing wif last time sec students from 80s or 90s had withness those DM or teachers who were even more nasty than today.
i even saw a teacher gave a student a tight slap in front of the class when the student trying to talkback to him.
i dun see the word "fat" is insulting.

which guniang army camp were u in? cant believe army nowaday train a bunch of soft/whiny soldiers.
I'm guessing some people would say that things like this going to report to MOE...
But think about this for a sec... What did the fat kid get when the DM called him a name...? I'm guessing he more likely gets a broken ego which can be fixed with a little duct tape...
But what does a report to MOE would get the DM...? A very big chance for a broken rice bowl...
Weigh the outcome before doing anything...
Then call an old man or her an old hag lor...
When he/she ask for an apology, say no cos no point apologising to someone who do not respect others....

well how old is the DM n how old is the student?
of course respect the seniors first.
but when kid demand respect when he dun obey the school rule, what is there a claim for Right?

I do agree that some people say the kid has no right to demand respect but
i believe the DM dun deserve his pay if he abuses his power.......
the DM's job is to ensure and enforce discipline on the students.....i believe calling people fat won't do any good in enforcing discipline on the kid......

abuse power??? more like he is doing his job.
the pple who always blame the school r more likely to be irresponsible parents in future next time.
in chinese we call those kids "没家教".

I think the reason why schools nowadays are totally different then yesterday's is becoz as we advance ourselves into the future, human rights start playing a big role......
I do believe that students have a right to a safe education but some students(mostly those who like making excuses after doing something wrong) abuse this reason altough ultimately for government schools most of them who resort to violence with the teacher would still get expelled or something.......

human right huh? lame excuse to cost someone lost of his job wif a petty issue such as reporting to MOE who view the word "fat" as insulting?

telling the kid to do rounds is his job yes but does calling him names like "eh, Fat Guy!, get into the line" definitely is not part of educating him.......
we cannot know his true vocal tone when he said this but there may have been two scenarios....
one is a harsh tone and the other being a friendly tone like how you would call your friend.......
if it was the first then he might have been abusing his power.......most people who use the first must definitely feel big headed thus giving himself his own reason to call em fat.....
if its the latter then he should probably learn to not address his students liddat........
