recently, the service improves, thank goodness. the new staff, cynthia, is very professional and patient to provide help. She even suggested to waive my sub fee for credit card.
My dad's been real nice and he sup a few cards to me (im 19). Most credit cards have the same previledges that include discount at restaurants (almost all have. AMEX has better ones), cheaper movie tickets (UOB, Citibank), priority Comfortdelgro cab booking and waiver of admin fees (ABN-AMRO). It also helps when buying stuff online, especially overseas and buying in a foreign currency. Better to check which company (AMEX, Visa, or Mastercard) offers the best rate before you buy. A lot of places selling all kinds of stuff will give you interest fee instalments if you have the credit card they support. Of course there are the clubs and pubs offers.
Its definitely a must to pay your monthly bills on time. Its not really "spending future money". When i wanna buy something, I make sure i have the capability to pay for it right away, before i use the credit card to buy it. This is to reap the benefits fully. In short, you gotta be the banks' least money earning customer.
Oh and about the annual fee, just call them up and threaten to cancel the card. It always works.
