But anyway, if anything, we should read such news with a pinch of salt, for we do not know if it's being sensationalized or not. Not just the ST does it, so does others, to help reflect the paper's 'weight' on a certain issue. There is always biasness, no matter how we see it.
But I feel sorry for the girl, if what she says, is true. At the end of the day, it's just a common example of irresponsible journalism.

But it can be quite true that rich kids can be quite pampered at times and do not know how to fend for themselves once their parents are no longer around because they are too used to being fed and given everything without having to struggle for it.

true.. but seriously speaking, what can a person do? sue them? its 1 person going against the only publication firm in singapore.. lets say nevermind that, but what about the time wasted for the lawsuit? the money?
over the course of the lawsuit, what if they continue sensationalise the story? harass the person's parents, friends, teachers and so on? publications like lian he wanbao love to drag it like its a soap opera..
its an uphill task to say the least.. the best thing to do is not get involved in an interview at all..
i once got interviewed by my friend for an article in a school tabloid.. not really interview, just chatting over msn.. he asked my opinion regarding an issue, and i responded saying the issue was BAD blah blah.. and when the tabloid came out, he wrote that i said the issue was GOOD... i read and was like "wtf".. but it wasn't anything serious so i shrugged it off.. but i told myself i wasn't gonna do any interviews for any form of publication anymore..
