Ideas to save up for holiday trips? Anyone?

my attachment allowance now only 600/mth, and i've already booked a trip to thailand for about a week which is going to cost me about $1k.
So for me, my plan is to save $300/mth for 4months. if not at least $200/mth, then i'll have at least $800 to spend overseas.

Y not think of neighbouring countries instead? A short wkend get away at batam or bintan will be good u know!
U can get away frm the busy urban life. I just came back 2 wks ago n had a great time @ batam holiday inn. In total i spent about $125 for tour+ferry+ package lunch+seaport tax. Quite worth eh? N u can also check out the pool i had posted on my blog , it is half is good as going to phuket except that batam hav almost no the beachside if u are going for hotel stays. -
You need to ask yourself why you want to travel...
Do you want to see more of the world? Travel because you're curious? Or you travel because it's the "right" thing to do? Bragging rights?
Travelling plans shouldn't make your life suffer. If your income isn't enough to support yourself comfortably in Singapore, it might be wiser for you to earn extra money first before planning an expensive trip.

We should all just save up and spend if there is enough money only. If we don't have enough money, why go overseas? Even short trips are just waste of money. Gee, how about saving up for 2-3 years then go on 1 month trip? That'll be loads of fun!
