hey people, just wanna say that religion is rarely the true cause of extremism. IQ is. Those suicide bombers have low IQ and low education. They are merely used as pawns.
See, u cant convince a Singaporean Muslim to blast places because he's smart enough to think that he has a life to live and a family to take care of.
By the way, Islam and Christianity are basically the same kind of religion. I don't get why people think one is "better" than the other.
In all, i think religion should be kept to oneself. We have enough conflicts to think of.
I'm Agnostic btw, never read the Bible before. So I'm gonna sound like a total moron when discussing religion in depth. -
Extremism starts in the mind then possibly spread to religions and so and so.

Extremists have many agendas. They only believe in furthering their own interests. Religion is, more often than not, used as an excuse.. that's the bottom line.

People do evil in the name of religion; by itself, religion doesnt make people do stupid things. Jesus Christ rebuked Peter, who resorted to violence, and healed the Roman soldier's ear; Buddha is a pacifist, and Islam is known as religion of peace.
For those who think religion causes violence, don't be dogmatic or narrow-minded. The atheistic totalitarian states (Stalin's Russia and Mao's China) have perpetrated more mass murder than any state dominated by a religious faith. Nobody's going to claim that atheists or a general lack of belief in the afterlife / supernatural / theism are the cause of violence or murder. Religious beliefs or the lack thereof isn't the problem; humans are. A helpful read is this War Audit.

prejudice against the other religion (i.e Muslims who hate Jews) are ingrained in children from Middle Eastern countries. often enough, these kids don't even know the reason why they hate Jews. They are just told to despise them

Who are, more accurately the true causes of extremism? I hold that they're driven by oppression, and given the available means, this is their way of fighting back. Just my opinion though

Successful people don't blow themselves up.It doesn't matter if they are educated or uneducated, education does not determine success.

But ulquiorra87, why havn't we seen Tibetan Buddhist blow themselves up in other countries? And rioting in your own city is totally different from committing terrorism in other people country. Surely the Tibetan have been oppressed by the Chinese. Their grievance surely must be as great if not greater than the muslims, since their homeland has been completely occupied.
The difference is between Tibetan Buddhism focus on compassion and Islam focus on Jihad.
And don't go telling me that we deserved to be bombed for being mean to terrorist.
