i don't see anything wrong in following trend, just don't overdo it.
it doesnt matter what anyone thinks about other dress senses, the point remains that the whole skinny jeans thing is wimpy and revolting to the majority, as evident from the responses in this forum.
why not change your mindset on style instead. ![]()

do you think those people wearing skinnies in bugis/orchard think the people in the forums have a great fashion/dress sense?
do you think the people in the forum represent the majority?
you think your dad buy pants from g2000 never bring to tailor to alter it slim?

The point is that the forums represent a good sample of general singaporean society.Even more so because this is the general 'chat chat' forum and not some specialty one. And from this, the verdict is very clear. And like i said, it doesnt whether the critics have a good fashion sense or not, the stand remains the same that the general skinny jeans fashion sense is pathetic.
Here's an analogy, you dont have to be a great cook to distinguish good food from poorly prepared food. The general public usually comes to a consesus as to whether a particular restaurant has 'good food'. And even though most of the public are not great cooks, the verdict still stands.
Similarly, it doesnt matter what the mainstream population wears. For all that matters ,they can be wearing garbage bags. But still, the verdict remains that skinny jeans are ugly for the most part.
And i'd rather not bring specific people into the debate but for the record no one in my family would go near a pair of those monstrosities.

so do you believe that 66.6% of singaporeans agree to price hikes and everything else?
good one.

Try not to go off topic.
And i'm sure the general forum user here doesnt agree with price hikes. So your point is void nonetheless

okay, so generally people are against price hikes, but why are prices still going up? why are the people responsible for that still voted in despite?
it's not going off topic, it's called giving an analogy.

Ok i'll accept your analogy.
so generally people are against price hikes, but why are prices still going up?
1. The government hikes prices, the people dont make the decision.
2. The prices are not 'still going up'. You obviously dont read much because inflation has fallen together with oil prices.
3. Price hikes are caused by economic fluctuations, you think prices are determined by whether people are happy with them or not ?
why are the people responsible for that still voted in despite?
1. General Elections were BEFORE all the price increases.
Your analogy = EPIC FAIL
from skinny jeans untill price hike, simi sai?! And where is TS anyway? ![]()

so generally people are revolted by skinny jeans
1) people are still wearing and some are still looking good
2) despite heavy criticism from even parents, people are still wearing it
3) you don't have a say in other's choice
so why are people still wearing it?
1) because they can
Your analog and retorts = EPIC FAIL
Ah beng wannabes wearing fanciful skinny jeans=truckloads of fail ![]()

You haven't disproved ANYTHING i said. You just ran away and came up with some nonsense.
1) people are still wearing and some are still looking good
Some being 1%.
3) you don't have a say in other's choice
Yup i don't, but like the great majority, i can tell you that skinny jeans are disgusting.
so why are people still wearing it?
1) because they can

LOL that makes ABSOLUTELY no sense. Its like saying cows can fly because elephants are made of cheese.
And yes they CAN wear skinny jeans, just like they can look stupid.
Its not about changing the mindset of your dad.
You should change your mindset. If your dad like your dressing style you will change pronto. When he dislike it, you stick to it.
He is a manyzer, so he has many more sense than you.

and oh please, you think only 1% look good in it, is your neighbourhood the only place you've been to?
and please, don't just give some half-assed reply cause you don't can't find a way to retort back :)
