Hey I would love to...
Well what happened is that me and a couple of friends wanted to go to a nice beach for holiday... We were planning on going to Bohol (another good beach island in Phil), due to the simple reason that it is very near Cebu - Silkair flight to Cebu, take a 90 minute boat ride.
But I casually mentioned my plans to a Philippines counterpart and she told me we had to go to Boracay instead... So we took a plunge and changed our plans..
Boracay is actually situated midpoint between Manila and Cebu (the only 2 places accessible from SG), since we already booked our flight to Cebu, we had to go from there...
From Cebu, we took a domestic flight (45 mins) to this place called Cataclan which is just a boat ride away from Boracay... And from there, we subsequently took a boat to the paradise island itself...
Some stuff about the transportation I have to add, when you reach Cataclan, I advise just look for the locals milling around there, they will help get you to Boracay and settle all the boat tickets and stuff (hassle free just pay money)...
It might sound like a huge fuss just getting there itself, but I assure you it is worth it... Imagine a 4 km beach stretch with about 70m of beach "depth" during low tide, all clean fine sand... absolutely amazing... Resorts line the 4 km stretch, with the middle being a row of restaurants, beach activities vendors and PUBS...
While i'm at it, accommodation is pretty simple, just search the internet for resorts located on the Main Beach, internet booking is actually available.... I stayed in this one called the White House iirc....
Feel free to PM or ask me if any of you need any more information or detail, i'll be very glad to share my experiences in Boracay...
