Erm... I would suggest you to go to AMK ave 7. Just a few stores away from the OCBC ATM machine, there's this private optical store called Wah Seng.
Go and check the store out. Cause if you can find a frame there, it will be very cheap with transition lense.
Cause i just made one spec there. the frame is 80 bucks. Black plastic frame with white tribal patterns on the side. And i got a mid index transition lense for my 500 degree vision.
He only charged me 150 bucks. I sourced from many places and this is actually the cheapest i've seen. You should check it out. He has a pretty decent variety of plastic frames specs. ^^ -

i believe they jump straight to 1.6 index after 1.5.

From what i was told, there is mid index. Just that for transition lense theres only two indexs. Once your eyesight hits over 500 you need to go for high index transition.

Ah, i got something on tmr. Erm... Ok.
At the nearest bus stop to that place, there is.... Bus 55, 55A, 261, CT8, SS3, 45, 1N and 577. The bus stop is called ANG MO KIO IND PARK 1 OPP BLK 402.
You can take an mrt from wherever you live to Ang Mo Kio. Go to the bus interchange and take Bus 261. Then alight at that bus stop.
From that bus stop, you walk to Blk 407 which is less than 5 mins away. Under that block of HBD flats, you should be able to find a small shop called Wan Seng Eyewear Center.
This is the MOST SPECIFIC instrution on how to go there that i can give you... -

I actually sourced around quite a few stores before i settled on that one. Most stores are offering a decent frame, around the 80 buck range, and a transition lense at 200 bucks plus.
And i got mine from there at 150 bucks. If saving 50 plus bucks is not worth the trouble to you then... Alright then.?
