The computer doesn't consume that much electricity. Your TV probably consumes more. And your Air Conditioner, Washing Machine, and Water Heater units are even worse.
I tend to hibernate my notebook when not using, and keep it on as long as i need to when I am doing work. There is no rule to say 2 hrs must shut down. That sounds like 20 years ago.
If I am d/ling, I leave it on overnight till 6 in the morning, my task scheduler will shut it down for me. Its usually off in the day, so technically, its less than 12 hours on every day.![]()

Keeping the computer on 24/7 will not spoil it. I have computers (normal PC) on like 24/7 for years and they are still functioning.
Oh cool... but still, paying hundreds to thousand of dollars for a new PC is still money, so let's save wherever possible....
