What I was most angry about was that they CAUSED the congestion and confusion.
What the hell were they thinking of when they choked off the tunnel full of people, in the middle of the tunnel, by erecting barriers inside the middle of a tunnel full of people and with people still coming in from the entrances?
If they wanted to stop people from going inside the tunnel, hello, you stop people at the entrances, not erect barriers in the middle of the tunnel.
The second thing I was most disgusted with was that the media as far as I can see, did not say anything about the real CAUSE and simply blame it on the IT show.
how does the barricade look like? where does it diverts to? how come no other people complain about it?

No one complained about it in the forums... the people there at the barrier were fuming mad and screaming at the security guards and the Indian chap kept shouting through his loud hailer "Cant you people follow simple instructions and just go out?"
In the meantime, people keep streaming in from the entrances.
Those, including me, that followed "the simple instructions" and went out, met with the rain and like so many (some just run across the road in the rain) made our way back in (on the other side of the barrier, and went out to the other side (in my case, to Esplanade because my car was parked there) with no problems!
I had to go out (up) and get back down on the other side because of the barrier (and so did many others) and we had no problems going to the other side! That shows that all the trouble was caused by the barriers setup by the damned stupid security guards.

You got see the queue baricades at banks? winding left and right, left and right....
The barricade acts like that... divert people left and right... to control the crowd. so you have to get out before you get in... it will also restrict the number of people going to the IT fair from that point of entry, so you will have to queue there... this is known as crowd control.

How many times must I tell you that the barricades were inside the tunnel, effectively choking half the tunnel so that people cannot go over to the other side of the tunnel, the other side of the barricades?
How many times must I tell you that the barricades I am referring to are not the barricades at the entrances into the tunnel?
When I went out to the end, at the Esplanade side, there was no barriers, and no one was stopping the people from going out (me) or the people going into the tunnel. Those that got into the tunnel, will be stopped at the middle with the barricades preventing them from going further (towards Suntec) and forced to go out from a small exit.
sheesh!!!
edited to add... stopped at the middle of the tunnel, inside the bloody tunnel congested with people because of the barricades.

Stopping people from going to the other side is what a barricade do. duh. and they are obviously not letting people in through that way.
Are you talking about dividers?
barricades always divert you somewhere, did it divert you outside? did it divert you to another way to get to the IT show?

Let me repeat. They let people into the tunnel. At the middle of the tunnel, they setup barricades on the right side (effectively closing half the tunnel, the other half, on the left side, congested with people) causing a huge congestion forcing people to go out through the exit on the left.
Why is that stupid? They should simply stop people from coming into the tunnel, not let them in and then stop them from going to the other side by blocking their way causing a huge congestion.
The barricades created a bottleneck and people were still coming into the tunnel, innocently, only to be stopped in the middle that is choked.
me saw the foto on the papers & found dem toopid too.

I was not at the entrance/exit where they down the shutter... you are right, it is such a ridiculous thing to do, to trap people inside the tunnel! Outside, people can spread out, but inside the tunnel there is no where to go.
That means that those that found the middle congested as a result of the barrier they put up, walked back to the entrance at Suntec and found the exit shuttered.
Damned stupid security guards. Old People and Young children could have died as a result of their stupidity.
