Caucasians = Big hearted gods

went to this 7 eleven outlet today to buy something, and me and this ang-moh couple (presumable tourists) were slightly in front of me. both were in their late 50s - 60s.
the wife went in, and i waited for the husband to go in to, but this kind old soul instead open the door for me big-big and gestured me to go in first.
when i saw that, i was so touched i want to cry because you don't see SGreans doing this (if they did, God will call the devil "daddy"). i smiled and told him thank you.
(btw, everything in that Marina square 7-11 costs double the price of elsewhere.....can u beat that???!!!)
i learnt a big lesson today, and can now understand why so many SG girls like them.
it's because they're real men, big-hearted and gracious.
not like tiny SG guys who fight with women to see who can get into MRTs first.

and i'm a SG guy btw, though i don't push others to enter MRTs or buses.
Singapore should welcome real men like these so that our population can be more gracious; those gracious and kindness campaigns are useless.
and not reall SG guys too........SG girls must learn from ang-moh girls too......more elegant, more gracious, more big-hearted.
when i compare local girls to foreign ones, they have lots to learn in terms of character.
last time when i was a staff at Watson, the easiest customers to deal with were all ang-mohs; hardest to deal with are PRCs (as expected).
i always avoid PRC customers and favored the ang-moh ones.
this is why ang-mohs are given better / priority service everywhere (on the plane, at restaurants etc), because generally, their race have set a good reputation for themselves and in our hearts and minds.

ter was once, ang moh gal, walked past me n my frenz, turning to us and smile. so sweet..
ter was once in a hospital, this ang moh guy wait for us to enter first and get out first.
i was like "thank you" (slightly bowing)
7-11 forever ex than all others..

I agree with haha879 and it's culture and also individual thing. Because there are so many people gracious or not that are in all different culture. So to say one race of people is big hearted gods is just too much exaggerate.

Maybe u very charismatic.They like u a lot.I got many chance meet ang moh always ignore me one leh.
A lot of time at bus stop,they keep asking ppl how to get to one location.But the pattern like ppl own them money.
Everytime i help a ang moh,they nvr say thk u or anything.just walk off immediately.
But see Singaporean or malaysian ask me something,will at least say thks.

the other day, there was this asshat who just smacked my friend hard on the back and told him to scram because he was rushing to cross the street.
my friend gave him a good kick in the shin and before he apologised.

90% ang moh sibeh polite one.. esp when they are tourists..
but i have to say those europe ang moh, maybe abit rougher.
US ones maybe more polite.
aust ones not tat sincere.
i ever met some nasty ones but its like 1/1000. reli..
msian rude la.. talk dun noe like simi sai.
china lagi rude n kpo, when i do demo with customers, they like to stand behind or beside n hear.
indians dun say thank you but 'sscuse me' and 'ah cha'..

ive seen demanding and unreasonable angmohs before... make our local shop keeper angry with their stuck up attitudes...
we sgporeans can also be gracious and kind when we are touring in foreign countries with holiday mood.. probably not so in singapore island where its a rat race down here.

and i take 1 newspaper only
and the let me take the queue before her

how come ang mo i come across so different in spore???one crippled singapore man waiting for taxi n i let him go first....ang mo man behind me with spore business friends start to boast how he do this charitable thing n that thing.....just because i let crippled man take taxi first.i was alone and din say much because got bad sore throat.
not all ang mo are nice!....theres the good,bad and the ugly.

Some people will thank you, some dont. But i prefer ple to say thank you lor. If not so rude leh. When people open for me i will say thank you one lor. And smile.but then i have to disagree with this la:

You might wish to consider making a trip to Europe (preferably Central and Eastern Europe) and patronise the touts at renowned tourist attractions to boost your self-esteem a tad. I am sure it will do your confidence wonders to be worshipped by a seemingly superior race as they seek to charge you exorbitant sums for their products.
Then again, all that graciousness is worth paying for if it inflates your self-esteem a little, isn't it?

im not sure this make sense but they are foreign ppls wat... i mean c'mon, if u go to their country, u have to be polite or else they think that the country u born in are plain rude and they will have second thoughts of welcoming u to their country. U may never know wats their true color when they move back to their own country.
