just curious, but Japanese and Koreans are descendants of the Han Chinese right?
been trying to find info of where Japanese and Korean originate from but no solid evidence.
i'm pretty sure the burmese, thai, viet and laotians are all descended from China.

japs are descendants of chinese who sailed with admiral cheng ho.when admiral cheng ho came to japan...the natives there looked more like mexicans n red indian mix.thATS WHY SOME chinese boys n gals look like japs themselves even though they have no connections to japan,,,,,like me ferinstance.
all the others are also chinese origins,,,,,,,,,it stops until the malay -thai archipelago where people there dont look chinese.the missing link!

now that u said it, some japanese seems to be really dark-skinned and looks a bit like latin / mexicans, while the majority really look quite similar to taiwanese / chinese.

Yah. Think of it as some xenophobia. This bigotry is part of human nature. USA is like this, same for Australia, China, Japan and Indonesia.
If the other culture gives a good impression of its own, then bigotry can lessen.
You know I ever attended a First Impression lesson conducted by grassroots organisations. The consultant told us not to always have a first impression of others. Don't make friends like as though it is a recruitment event. But so far I will not have first impressions of among my Singaporeans only. I still won't apply to other nationalities.

admiral cheng ho is from Ming Dynasty, whereas Chinese people since Sui Dynasty has already travelled to Japan, about 1000 years earlier
once again, people with Yellow Skin doesn't mean Chinese origins

till today, the research on Japanese with relations to the Austronesian family is still going on
Some Japanese seems to be really dark-skinned is true, but I cannot conclude there were Malay mixing until more substantial evidence is found
