A dilemma that had been asked since the dawn of civilisation, which there is no right or wrong answer.
Many will give arguments and conditions to the question posed, all equally logical and rational, but never a right or wrong one. It is a dilemma that one lives with, responsible for the decision he had to take, and no one else have a right to accuse or praise, but to ask themselves, what would I have done in his/her place....
For myself, without any preconditions or senseless deep arguments, i would jump and attempt to save BOTH, or die trying. There may be a chance, a slim one perhaps, as it had happened in many crisis before, for a miracle that I may succeed.
But if no miracle, then it is better to die in an attempt trying to save all, than to live with a haunted memory for life, of what could have been.....
May no one needs to face such a terrifying and horrible dilemma..

The only reason I responded to this thread is because I believe there are dilemmas adult have to face, , make and live with tough choices, even daily, and do not live in a fantasy, and offer an insight.
I'm sure the only dilemma you at your age have to make is to decide between a Mac or a KFC dinner. But when you grow older, you will either have to confront your realities responsibly, have courage and do what must be done.
Failing which, others or situations will decide for you, and then you can be like others, freely whine with hindsight at ones who make the decisions for you.
I apologise for spoiling the fun that you had intended for this thread, but sometimes, certain things may not be as fun as you think it is, more so in this site where there are all kinds of people - kids and adults.

lets be realistic, our relationship with our parents is over once we are able to take care of ourselves. if parents are so important, old folks home would not be such a thriving business. lets look at our society today, most people choose their careers over their parentspeople would only choose parents if the parents are really rich, on second thoughts, even with rich parents, it would still be better to save the spouse and make sure the parents drown
2 - spouse
spouse provide physical pleasure and a child is just trouble. saving the spouse gives you many more chances to create new children while saving the child means you need to look for a new spouse and let me tell you this, it is way easier to make more children then look for a new spousethe only exception to the rule is when the spouse is sterile, then it would be better to make sure the spouse drown, collect the insurance and start looking for a new spouse
