Now they offer above course (1-year part-time diploma in Interactive Media) for S$5000, but as got gahmen subsidy, becomes we pay around $1000++.
the thing is: anyone heard of this AEC school? how's it like?
the course seems very general and cover a bit of everything but at this price, it's irresistible. the only thing is whether the cert is worth the time.
pls advise.
i took my sec 3 at their commercial training centre b4...lol
yours is part time or full time? how do u find the school?
For God's sake, get a real diploma.

Think about it.
If the diploma is so easy and fast to complete, it will be pointless if you cannot make it all the way to the 2 years degree programme and complete it, as the diploma itself would not be worth that much.

hello, that's a real dip, ok?

no lah, my plan is to complete that dip and then get a degree.
even if no degree, i can take on more specialized courses in multimedia area to build my portfolio.
Pls go check if the quali is recognised in sg before signing up
if you really want to study at a commercial school pls study at those bigger and reputable ones like SIM & MDIS.

He wants something which is :
1) Easy to study
2) Can be done part time and within a short amount of time
3) With lots of girls
That is why he is looking for this kind of Diploma ( No offence intended ).
I suggest you go and find out more about the modules. Their description is too brief. I can barely tell you if it's worth it.
Some questions to ask:
1. What programming languages are taught?
2. What softwares are they using?
3. What operating system are they using? Not important if you adapt to changes fast. Some design softwares such as Photoshop work on Mac and Windows, but their user interface differs on both operating systems. If you cannot adapt to changes fast, knowing a skill is useless.

I suggest that you read carefully.
This is what's written on the website:
For Working Singaporeans, Funding by Surrogate Employer Programme (SEP) via Mendaki & NTUC
This program applies to working Singaporeans who are
- 40 years and above are eligible for upto 90%** funding of course fees
- Below 40 years are eligible for upto 80%** funding of course fees.
** subject to approval, with terms and conditions apply
Bold it for you to research.
For NTUC to help you, you need to be union member for at least 6 months, with T&C applied. Call up NTUC and ask. I'm not sure about Mendaki, can call them up and ask as well.

He doesn't need to bother to call Mendaki up.
Mendaki is a special aid group helping out the needy Malay/Muslims community, especially students.
I highly doubt he is a Malay or a Muslim.

Heh, I thought his nick sounds Malay. If he's not, then don't bother about Mendaki.

no lah, i don't really care about that. This course is so cheap that at S$1000++ or so, it's too good to miss. Besides, even if SG doesn't recognize this, at least i gain knowledge and meet more people and more insight + exposure.
according to the website, they say this cert is highly recognized worldwide (issue by British technology council called BTEC, btw), though i never heard of this before. ![]()

SIM doesn't offer the course i like, and MDIS offers a quite similar course to this, but their modules are non-relevant and teach junk, after i saw their course synopsis in their website.

huh, thanks a lot!!!!!!! i never noticed that Funding by Surrogate Employer Programme (SEP) via Mendaki & NTUC thing! i'm now waiting for the school's e-mail.
however, if i'm not able to apply for the funding and have to pay S$5000++ instead of S$1000, then i'm not gonna sign up liao. Knn, waste of money in that case.
i might have to look elsewhere.

Nikar is derived from the word "Nikarr".
"Nikarr" in Norse mythology is one of the many names of the chief god Odin, and it means "Teller of truth".
i minus the 2nd "r" at the back and it becomes just "Nikar". ![]()
after kenna banned unfairly so many times, now it's Nikar7. ![]()

You do not need to worry, this cert is definitely recognised in SG, otherwise the government would not have fund people who are taking it up.

Mendaki was set up to provide aid for needy Malay/Muslim families to begin with.
For example, a JC is set up to provide for JC students, not Poly students.
Please be aware that you shouldn't use the above bolded words.

poly 3 years, degree 2 years = 5 years
private 1 year, degree 3 years = 4 years.
i spend 1 year lesser.
