At 8.22 pm , everybody at Orchard road says the pledge and then carry on shopping after that.

Those who go and take the pledge seriously, police come find you.
So what's the point?
A police officer testified that he and his teammates were performing foot-patrol when they spotted SDP leaders distributing flyers at the Raffles City Shopping Centre outside the City Hall MRT Station, and proceeded to stop the act.
But his teammate said that they did no such thing. They were assigned directly to the area to "keep observation" and did not do any foot-patrol. This clash of testimony happened in the trial involving Mr Gandhi Ambalam, Ms Chee Siok Chin and Dr Chee Soon Juan who are charged with illegal assembly.
The three SDP leaders were distributing flyers on 10 Sep 06 announcing the WB-IMF rally and march the following week... -

Say pledge in front of PAP is hypocrisy and lying, say pledge in front of opposition party is to move towards the goal.
PAP regime tells me to say pledge, that is to say to lie to oneself, so I cannot do it.
If SDP or WP tells me to say pledge, I will say.

ARe u sure they are building democratic society? I don't think so. It is stated any gathering of 5 people and below is not illegal. One particular opposition had 5 or fewer than 5 people gathering got it from them. So is this the so called democratic society to the evil oppressors?
Crap la! No wonder they and their counterparts get along so well. hahahah

I am living the national pledge everyday, not just at a certain time, date or hour.
A sacred pledge we vowed daily since our formative years to our society, with honour, bound by our words and daily actions, a bond amongst those and us who call ourselves Singaporeans with pride, to share national sorrows, difficulties as well as joys, progress and happiness as one united people, descendants of those whom had been left to die by kings and rulers, yet striked back with resilience and fortitude, rising above others and became an unique human species that amazed the world.
Please respect the national pledge. It is above politics. It is who we are, regardless of whatever we are in life.
