oh yeah... unless you have the right equipment and the proper anticoagulants, whatever blood you collect will clot into a semi-solid gunk within a few hours anyway
I have a suggestion for you. If you are taking around 20 to 40ml, you can get leeches, put it on your hand for it to suck until bloated and drop off. It is safe as it will not cause pain but you need to stop the blood after it drop off as it injects chemicals that will not let your blood to clot while it is sucking.

Leech can cause bleeding for quite awhile as the blood can't clot.
just poke yourself with a knife and you can get whatever amount you want...

I have a project going on and it requires me to get a bag of my own blood. Does anybody has any idea how to go about doing it? I've donated blood at HSA's blood bank about 7 times so far. I wonder if it is possible for me to talk to them and ask if they can help me obtain a small bag of my own blood. Perhaps 1/2 the amount of the standard bag donated would do too.
Cheers!
thanks people!
