In my Toa Payoh neighbourhood, we use to fly kite and we will have kite fights with folks from the opposing block. To make sure that you can cut the opposing person's kite, we strengthen the strings with a form of glue laced with powdered glass.

Yes and I think it was so popular that they also had volleyball after that
Steven Chow must have got the bright idea from there and came up with Shaolin Soccer.

One thing I do remember growing up, is how my mummy tried to save money to feed us kids.
She bought $1/- one pink plastic bag of fish, those with silver and yellow lines down their length kind. All put into a big pot of water and boil till its down to almost 3 bowls. Then make me and sis each drink up one bowl.
Till now, the calcium from those fish soups is whats making me and sis teeth so yellow.
Sis's dentist complains that her tooth very hard to pull out.
I only now remember it, because my own upper tooth filling fell out.
I had more tooth problem cos I have air bubbles in the tooth.
Last time I like to play "wagga wagga wagga". ![]()
