Remember how a black panther escaped from the zoo -
Hotel New World Collaspe. Me and family just moved into the HDB Masionette at Tampines.
Those days, havnt even start building the interchange, so the make shift interchange was downstairs my block.
We were taking bus to grandma's house. Suddenly everyone have a night newspaper in their hands and were all absorbed in reading about the collaspe.
I later joined a group of Volunteers that ever was assisting for the dig for survivors. Their description of what they saw, was interesting.
And recently, was involved in a discussion about volunteering services overseas. Might just allocate some time to do such trainings and volunteer overseas properly.

That episode in Singapore's history was a good experience for those in the medical and rescue vocation which prepared them well for the disaster relief work that they are doing now.

Hi Short Ninja,
I believe that it was in 1973, prior to the opening of the Singapore Zoo. A bear escaped with the Black Panther as well.

Police and army also were activated and combed the nature reserve for the animal...at first they thought the animal must have swum to JB...... this sounds familiar to anyone???LOL

I think not just one elephant but a few were spotted.Just dont dont tell it to PK YAP or he might say we were delusional -
Wild boar is delicious but I got a shock on my life once when I encountered one the size of a full grown cow in the Brunei Nature Reserve.
