Proper name could be halfbeak.

Hi Short Ninja,
I just realise that the fish in the picture is one of the many types of sandeel, after right clicking the picture and taking a look at the "properties" section. They happen to be part of the sandlance family.
Cheers.

By the way speaking of places of worship,I believe a lot of these places started as small shrines and you could find them at almost any places or out of nowhere. The ones surviving must have help a lot of people kena 4-D either that or are pro -PAP>LOL. Indian temples started with small huts and leafed rooves today so grand and colorful.Churches, temples ,mosques were all so humble looking then. Now no money no guarantee of heaven>hahaha
Modernisation?![]()

Hahaha.Ok you remember where the highest and lowest temple in Singapore was? I was there when they demolished of them.
One was on top of a hill which is now a few steps from Alkaff Mansion and the other one is down Henderson Road (bus interchange)buried under a swimming sports complex
The one on top of the Alkaff Mansion was actually linked to Mount Faber until they cut up to extend Henderson Road to Telok Blangah.
Always took the kids to Mount Faber during evening and some time stop at that temple then.

And if you take out your old map again I think the hill also had a name 'Mt Wellington' so now you know Singapore had a few mountains before and not just Mt Faber>LOL.They used dynamite to make that pass at Henderson Rd before that wild pigs also used to live on these hills.

Hi Marco,
The Road Safety Park is currently still in use.
Cheers.
