I remember when I a kid and he price of oil sky rocketted once so high that the Garmen thought about implementing a rule to ban all motorized vehicles on the road on Sundays except for public transportation.Of course that never did happen.

Advise please.
When chinese marries, hokkien gal to teochew guy.
Which side need to provide the Si Dian Jing? I read that teochew hubby side provide the 4 pieces gold jewellery.
But I read that hokkien mothers of brides also must provide the 4 pieces of gold jewellery for their own daughters?
So what is correct?

Anyway, I remembered when I was young I used to stay in Changi, where the current Terminal 3 resides. I lived in a attap house which my grandfather and mother built on a piece of land which they conveniently claimed in those days when government haven't thought of making all the land theirs.
Changi airport T1 was so near, it was my favorite hang-out spot - just need to walk over. Then some days I sat on some boulders a short distance outside my house and see air planes take off and land.
Other times i played with the chicks running ard my front yard. Then we have our own banana tree and when the banana ripens, we kids gorged on them (till we diarrhea? lol)..
I was 4 when we had to relocate. Govt wanna take back the land because they wanna build terminal 3. That was 20+ yrs ago. zzzzz They sure plan way ahead...
Though young, but pieces of vivid memories still remains..

Anyone remember the Carlsberg commercial of a shapely figure running on the beach in a be-gini?LOL.I certainly did because at that time I almost most got into serious trouble in school while teasing the Indian music teacher with the commercial jingle .You see, she had two tummies and 4 breasts (two in front and two behind) whenever she puts on her sari.

I remembered my son married a Teochew gal and I let them follow both Hokkien and Teochew. So both sides gave the 4 pcs gold.

I remember old Cathay. Even Dhoby Ghaut is now a name fro MRT station. The road no longer exist. Remember those aquariums shops along it too.
