All of us should contribute to Singapore's national security by maintaining a high state of vigilance and public-spiritedness.
Thank you.

Ok.
How...?
Be mindful......public means.....ordinary people......with no expertise or authority......
In America now they have debate on some laws about immigration because some people say it is going to be creating a racist environment and Latino-looking people can get targetted and can get discomforted......
So in the Singapore context....."be more vigilant"...Im not sure what that means.....
I suppose the intelligence agencies should be more vigilant and infiltrate radical groups deeper and so on...
But what can ordinary people do?
For instance I share with you my experience and dilemma,
Near where I live, I saw a woman who wear Afghan-style burqa.
I was shocked.
In SouthEastAsia, usually Muslim women wear hair covering, but not face covering.
But lo and behold, I saw a woman with full burqa, with only a slight eye opening.
I think she lives nearby. I see her a few times already.
I tell you the truth, I am a little bit scared. Because it means that that family has deep level of fundamentalist beliefs.
There is a difference between a woman who wear tudung, and a woman who wear burqa.
But I tell myself, I should calm down, and dont judge people until like that.
This is just my experience I share with you.
ok..
Say who?
Alright, ok;)
Oh, I finally know what this is abt...
It can be found in yahoo news...
This sounds damm cliche, but look out for suspicious characters/packages...
most people go into screensaver mode in the stations and on the trains anyway. its so fucking crowded most of the time and quite frankly everyone looks suspicious.
heng me belongs to purple line.
Not going orchard in the next 20 years
sure bo?
As long as they don't target harbourfront/vivocity, I am happy.

Possible Bomb alert.
I see more guards in mrt stations.
I live around orchard area but away from the mrt station..
Honestly speaking, it is very difficult to 'screen' for such people because there's just too many people...
take a look at ion... ![]()
the crowd is just .. ![]()
let me guess. terrorist come sg IR to game win money raise funds for their terrorist trainings and organisation maintainance. once they lose its time we should fear, that they jump our mrt tracks.
First they must come in. Not too difficult.
Then they get accomodation. Quiet easy.
Then look for material. The problem lies here.
Once they get the material and assemble the IED.
They are done.
BOOM!, or Sizzzzzzzel!

I think its pretty difficult to stop terrorists bombing singapore.
How many police can be present, how many eyes there have? So crowded, so busy, so big those public places....
To catch those terrorists while they are still in planning stage is part of the plan, but then again, its not easy everytime to be able to catch all before they execute the plan.
My guess, is that we cannot contain terrorism happening in singapore, at least not with the amount of work we are doing now, Ahem, god bless everyone's ass.

Lol ? And that applys to everywhere.... So whats your point lol ?
screeening the 'type' of people coming in to singapore is the thing we can start doing. those that come in i wonder did anyone in the department receive their details upon entry and study or monitor all of them. we get a headstart since we know the 'type' of people most likely to plant a bomb and be terrorists.
way fo approach at mrt and busy spots. i only see armed securty people wanling and parading. do they know what to look out for. in my opinion securty and people not in uniform should be at lookout at all entry points to stations. informal entry points where authorized people are allowed entry should also be looked into. once any suspicious people are spot the station should be informed and if have to tail the person or people to see if they leave any items behind.
don;t only for show and wait until bomb explode. can dogs smell boms? if so can deploy them at busy stations or spots.
i'm training my chihuahua to sniff out bombs so i should be safe.
also i'll bypass Orchard MRT, i'll take the bus from the station before Orchard to the one after !
also i'm buying a gas-mask and bring with me always.
why leh ? just in case the bomb turns out to be a stink-bomb !!!!!!!
must be safer so bring along 2 or 3 condoms !!!!!!
why leh ? maybe the bomb is a sex-bomb !!!!!!!
