  The drivers are not stupid like you to ram into pedestrians in plain sight, and the tourists would not be as idiotic as you are to stand in the middle while the cars are moving.

  Can't rebuke my answer and give me this kind of crap reply?

  Are u going to take the risk?? What if you met a very impatient driver. I have my fair share encounter of reckless sg driver. Definitely I am not going to take the risk especially the odd are against me.

  If we go court, the most he will be fine few thousand and me will waste my life in this stupid thing.

  So the report you have been talking about is true afterall. No one expected you to be courteous enough to throw your life away, if that is what are you talking about. But the fact you come here and insult them idiots says it all

  No, I do not drive a benz nor have obscene amounts of money or a regular attorney at my disposal as my time is more precious dealing with more important things in life than pedestrians being held up in the middle of the road's traffic lights and needing to knock them off their feet.

  Any driver who does that can be sentenced for man slaughter regardless if they have the right of way.

  But unfortunately, some bad egg don't think like you and I might be the unlucky one if I am not alert and encounter one...

   instead...walking off and blaming pple who arent familiar with singapore's traffic

   system, road system, directory, is just plain ungracious...

  i agree with TS - the tourists got no brains.  couldn't they ask someone after they cross the road or while waiting for traffic light to turn green ? no one with the right thinking will ask for directions in the middle of a road.

  roads are not exclusively existent in singapore.  i m sure anyone would know the dangers of crossing a busy road. 

  nevertheless, if the direction was pretty obvious and i was in the right mood with good attention, i would quickly point out to them the direction.

  ''common sense'' So how do you know they have no ''common sense''. Fact is, they may not even know that the light is turning red. As you said, they are tourist. It may be just a harmless question of asking for directions. You know the light is gonna turn red, so okay ignore and run, or better say something like lights gonna turn red then run together with them. No ones gonna blame you for ignoring.   Can you blame someone for not knowing what might be common knowledge to you?

  Just like in Taiwan the green man can flash for 1 min plus. And in poorer countries they have no proper traffic rules.

  Instead of calling them idiots and refusing to help them, we can try to at least understand that they are accustomed to different things and different systems.

  I can tell you in China, people walk in the middle of the street in groups of 10s and 20s and the cars practically crawl behind them.

  I think I have prove my point since someone finally agree to my view.

  I know many forumer like to troll and gloat at other people's plight,its ok.
