A close friend of mine recently had her mum bit by a dog.
The story goes like this. Mum was bringing dog out for a walk. That was when she got bit by the neighbour's Jack Russel, JR. JR charged at mum's dog. Mum was trying to protect dog. JR bit mum instead.
Neighbour stays at 10th floor. Mum stays at 6th floor. Neighbour's door was left open according to my friend so that was the reason why the JR was able to go down. I assume that she discovered the door was open when she and mum went up to report to neighbour. This is the second time. First time was when JR managed to bite mum's dog in a separate incident.
What are the possible legal actions or advice other than consulting with AVA and the Police?
Very arkward right? Having a legal tussle with a neighbour? Cannot settle by mediation?
human pwnzed by small dog ? .... ![]()
Hi,
I recommend talking to the neighbour first.
And also more generally speaking, be more careful when bringing the dog out.
Always be on lookout for other agressive dogs.
The best way is to lift the dog (your dog). This way the other dog cannot reach it.
Anyways, regarding whom to report to, I have no suggestion. If they wish, maybe they can try the police, but to report or not, it is something they have to decide.
Can. Got bite can call up those authorities alr. You call police no use, at most they give warning nia. Must call AVA. Get mum to get a jab too, being bitten by animals is not something smalls. Can get rabbies =S

erms, if you report, they will euthanasia the dog.
its rather cruel, so maybe you can ask your friend to think twice and warn the neighbour to eye more on the dog again and if it happen again, then report to ava or police lor.
No, they'll just hit the dog, like it did for biting cushions.
Lastime I nearly got bitten by a Dog. very lucky.
sigh, humans are becoming inhuman creatures.

anyway, my dog also ran out to chase people, and worst was malay people.
so if they can forgive, maybe your friend can too.

talk to the neighbour personally...get MP to mediate if necessary...
U go legal then it's the point of no return...but it remains an option lar...especially with @sshole neighbours.
get MP to mediate over two dogs? I don't think they will wanna do that.
Ask the mum to learn martial arts like maybe wing chun. She can use it on the dog next time it try to bite them
thank you for all the advices.
it seems like the father had talked with the authorities.
@brain yeah i was expecting that they would put the dog to sleep permanently. not very nice thing to do. i was thinking more of penalising the family instead for not taking care of the dog or training it properly but i am no lawyer.
oh i should have elaborated that mum did went up to talk to neighbours but neighbours continued having dinner and told mum to go get it treated.

Actually they wont put the dog to sleep for just biting ppl. You are right to say its cruel to put the dog to sleep, as the person responsible for this is the owner, not the dog. So by reporting this to the AVA, at least you are highlighting the problem to the authorities, who would fine the neighbor for not muzzling their dog.
At least do some action ma. Now is the mother kena bite, later old ppl or children kena bite even worse lor
Try consulting the town council. They have a mediation centre or something like that.
You may even try to see your MP at their Meet-the-People sessions. Election coming mah. They sure very obliging to help wan! Hahaha
Throw dog downstairs. Problem solved.

The first thing I thought about was dog fight and I mean aerial air to air combat. Just claim medical fees from your neighbour.
