For example, if they ask u to lend $5k to them, will u agree?
Don't have 5K to lend, how to lend?
depends on how well you know the person and what financial background you have..
talk money spoil feelings...
if there is no conflict of interest friends will be friends.
lending money(large amounts) to friends is one of the surefire ways to end the friendship.
In my personal experience, even if your good friend earns 2 figures more than you, he will still not return the money.
i once loaned my friend 10k. he returned the money shortly. but it set the precedence. he came back for more loans.
in the end he borrowed from nearly everyone of our friends.
when i was still working his salary was doubled mine.
Depends on lend for what use also.
If he/she borrows because of emergencies like medical bills or (touch wood) funeral expenses, I will lend. But treat it as good as gone first.
$5k is absolute, not relative, so different people will give you different answers.

no..
when it comes to $$, u noe who ur true fren really is..
If you're gonna lend them the money, then u better be mentally prepared to never see it again.
It's not about trust. It's about whether u can afford it.
