Does TV and movie violence encourages violent society?

I just watched blogtv last night and they were using Modern Warfare as an example of a violent video game...what a fail....

It's irritating to see individuals blame video games and movies as the source and inspiration of their problems when you know deep down, they're already inclined to violent tendencies. They could be watching Mickey Mouse and all they see is the TNT and anvils.
I think violent media on a general level simply makes us desensitized to it, rather than say, encouraging it. I see pictures of dead babies, war-ridden countries, families murdering each other and I move on.

perhaps mda should open classes to teach parents about the use of internet parental control for their kids.

i really do not understand what teenagers are thinking about, why do they think that they can do what the characters in the movies does, how come they dont have the brain to think that it is not real? babies nowadays very smart, ability to walk/talk earlier than what used to be the age, say better milk powder, vitamin, etc, what happen to them when they grow up? become stupid le? how come? i really cannot make the sense out of it, i wish i can ask one of the guys involved.

The media can impact on anyone no matter the gender or race.
It might be senseless to put the blame on it. At the same time would it look senseless at all if everyone can in one way or another be manipulated by it be it in a good way or bad?
The thing I wouldn't blame the media on is gangsterism.
Gangsterism is like MLM. They do not advertise their organisations publicly on posters. They do so discretely. They're more like a pandemic. -

I understood them, i have just turn adult from teenage just about 2 years ago, I was formerly with 666 Angel group, comprises of ah lian, ah hua, ah lucy and ah theresa, I still hv that tattoo in my left forearm, buttock and chest. We roamed the street of geyland, joo chiat and Sim ave like no body business. All of us gals are very "Ba" type, not scare of anything, as tho the earth and heaven and even hell belong to us.Personally, from my experience as their nos 3, I do not think Movies and TV affect our action, its is much more of parenthood in concern. As said many times, when i was young, i lost my mother, my Dad being a business man, is always busy with his business or else mistresses, left only my old grandma taking care of me, and my grandma herself formerly was 969 gang in geyland ah tua hua jie (big flower sister). So, somehow, i grew up not knowing what was right or wrong, kick men and wallop them who mistreated our sisters, we also get paid for helping girls who are being bullied by husbands or bfs. Everytime we whack or chop a guy who do bad to his gfs or wifeys, we felt very happy, like Goddness and heroine being worshipped.

Agree. It's more the circumstances and environment rather than TV and movie violence. Same argument has been going on about it in games and all.. no research has linked positive these two effects.
