I think it's all depend on the person using it. If you use it to read up and gain more knowledge, then you are not getting stupid. :)

The only stupidest and dumbest thing you ever do is to read or watch Naruto the pang sai. Otherwise Internet is the brilliant invention create by man. Can you imagine in your work without email just how troublesome it is just to get quotation or raise Purchase Order to buy thing for company with only phone or fax without internet or even ebay for your own selling and buying and online distance E-learning just to name a few ?
