The mee, the wanton, and the char siew.
In Singapore no wanton mee can get all 3 elements good, only 2. You either get the wanton and the mee nice, but the char siew farked up, or the char siew and wanton good, but the mee farked up, and blah blah blah.
Take fei fei for example, the mee is excellent, the wanton is good, but the char siew, worst in the universe. Then my favourite stall one, been eating it for 27 years already, mee good, wanton excellent, but char siew, worst in the galaxy. And another one in a canteen near my head office, mee good, char siew fantastic, wanton OMFGCMI.
So whoever tells you they found wanton mee with these 3 things done perfect, is a big fat liar.
Same goes for chicken rice...
It's the chicken, rice and chilli sauce...
here also cannot find place with 3 elements all satisfied de... no holy grail for chicken rice too... The best for me now is currently Heng Kee from chinatown and Yet Con from purvis...
There are some personal bias from me with the stall at far east... I personally also like the one there... The unker used to give me free extra rice becoz there was once I ate 3 plates in a row... but tat's just personal bias, I'm sure there are quite alot of ppl dun find it nice but it just grew on me...

Char siew is only good if its fatty, and pieces of fat still stuck to it.
Ironically, the best char siew in wanton mee, I had ever eaten to date is in Queensland, the char siew were not slices, they were chunks, and the wantons are the size of shui jiaos. Its a small stall opened in chinatown by ex-hong kongers, and of course things here aren't cheap, so that bowl of wanton mee cost me SGD$12 a serving.
Well, the stall I intro to DH is also fatty char siew... which I ranked just below (one or two places) fatty cheong's char siew from ABC market...
I would only like the chicken in chicken rice, if it was done true hainanese style, boiling the chicken without cold water dipping to stop the cooking process.

true hainanese style... U shld go Yet Con @ Purvis street... It's still old school and ranked first among my chicken rice list along with Heng Kee...
However, do bring along enough cash as the place is very old school and does not have a cashier machine... The boss still uses an abacus...
To add on, try to go there during lunch...
For dinner, their chicken sells extremely fast so they offer steamboats for dinner...
For chickens and other hainanese dishes, try to go during lunch...

Hello, Yet Con is what I recommend to people, but I have another place in mind where its done the same way. Its crowded enough, so I don't need to tell anyone else.
And that picture above, is from Yet Con.
