I wu liao take to Punggol... the station super wulu... dunno go where when I come out... so wu liao take to Harbour Front... can see sentosa... then even more wu liao take to Bukit Batok for lunch, and compare compare the two differnet MRTs and lines and station types...
Then later, take back to kovan, go home rest, then take the train to Potong Pasir to meet friends... and back of course...
The entire day I took 6 rides, 10 trains and visited 8 MRT stations, 6 of them on the NEL... -

Singaporeans were not just rushing for trains on the NEL, they were also rushing for freebies.
But this turned into a frightening experience at Dhoby Ghaut station.
There was almost complete chaos at Dhoby Ghaut station.
It all started after staff from Golden Village began handing out free movie tickets to NEL commuters.
"I saw a boy fell and he was crying. Very pitiful. Not very safe," said one commuter who witnessed the chaos.
"Ya, I fell down just now because some of them pushed me. I felt very sad," said the boy who fell down.
"We can't help it. If we don't squeeze, we won't be able to get the tickets," said another commuter.
The pushing and shoving only came under control after the chief of NEL trains stepped in.
But after order was restored, the pushing and shoving turned to disappointment.
The tickets were not for movies like the Hulk but a kids movie, Whale Rider and army thriller Basic.
Golden Village gave away a total of 20,000 tickets to celebrate the start of NEL.
But it was not just movie tickets being given away - Poh Kim Video is giving away 20,000 dollars of VCDs.
"I don't care what it is. So long as it's free, I will queue up for it," said one passenger.
"I have no idea whatsoever. It's just free so I thought I will have a look," said another.
It is the first time that so many freebies are given out to celebrate the launch of a new MRT line.
Even body beautiful ladies from Mrs Singapore Pageant have come to give their support.
The women gave out 300 slimming vouchers, each worth $1,800 to NEL commuters. -
took the nel from dhoby ghaut to harbour front yesterday. watched finding nemo, wanted to get free tickets but by the time i got to dhoby ghaut from toa payoh already 1700+. no more.
anyway had dinner at harbour front den took nel back for concert. nel like normal train wat. except cos no drive so if u stand at the end there are small windows where u can see the track. and whoa, dhoby ghaut now got travellators.
btw, news crew was crawling at dhoby ghaut yesterday. -

I was at HarbourFront station on Friday at 9.50 am, that was the time the security guards opened the gate to the station. I went down to the station concourse and queue up to get the sentosa free admission leaflets.
There were some people from the mass media interviewing public in the station, but I managed to "avoid" them. Then, the fare gates activated at 10 am sharp and I entered the platform to wait for the train.
The train arrived at around 10.02 am and I took it to Punggol. I sat in the front seat in the first carriage where you can see the tracks and tunnel ahead of you thru the window. Some stations are very near to one another, they are just a 1 minute ride away. Examples are Outram Park - Chinatown and Chinatown - Clarke Quay. The ride on this train is smooth and fine with no delay at all.
Alighted at Punggol station after about half an hour ride, the station is currently very deserted, the future LRT platform is on the 2nd level of the station. Walk to Punggol Rd, board service 82 to Punggol point and then back to the station.
Entered Punggol station to take the train to HarbourFront (to enter Sentosa as I have got the free admission leaflet earlier), the train I board this time is not doing fine. The public announcement system in the train is not working, so there weren't any station stop and door closing announcements. Later, the train was too close to the one in front, about 50m apart, so the train had to be delayed at Farrer Park and Little India stations in order to maintain a safety distance from the train in front. Later at Dhoby Ghaut station, the train had to be manually controlled, and was announced off service upon reaching HarbourFront.
Alighted at the station, walk along the causeway to Sentosa, but was told I cannot enter for free cause I was not issued the valid leaflet. (The person giving away the leaflet at the station had only handed me 2 leaflets instead of 3). The leaflet which was not handed to me is the valid free entry to Sentosa. As I didn't want to pay the $2, so decide to come at a later date. -
I took the train yesterday afternoon at Outram Park Station. When I reached there, one of the SBS Transit Staff stood infront of one of the doors and say that the door is spoilt, please use another door. Thought they have been testing this system for a few months already, but seems to be that there's still a few problems with the system

The good: faster, wider doors, 2 small windows infront whereby can see the lighted up tunnel, quiet sliding doors, wider passanger sit
The bad: still not very stable, narrower platform, walking distance from NSL to NEL 2 long, more expensive -
N there r already hiccups in the new MRT line.....
