But ask yourself, have you ever lied before. I dare to say all the people in here, not even one of you has not say a lie at all, whether it's a white lie or whatever.
No matter how you justify your lie, it's too a lie. You say you lie because it is for a good cause, it's too a lie.
The same applies to the promises. One may break their promises maybe because they REALLY can't fulfill them and not on purpose. Some of them may be asshole and play aeroplane with you, some of them really can't make it? How can you tell ? But the truth is all of them break their promise.
It's not about whether you lie or you break your promise, because we are imperfect in nature. However, what we can do is 1) do we realised our mistakes and 2) Am I gonna make this mistake again?
For point 2), I can say that not many people can correct their mistakes the first time, specially for those who are already hard-core. They may make the mistake the first time, second time and so on.
The real solution lies on us (they) whether do we (or they) want to forgive them (or us) and give them chance to redeem theirselves (or ourselves).

Lies isn't bad, and promises aren't either.
Nothing is something, Everything is something.
Appreciate the effort placed, though a futile attempt. Laugh at it when someone makes promises again, and never expect promises to be true. Why expect someone to promise when it's easily broken? As long as you don't believe, when someone really lived up to the promise, you'll appreciate everything more. -
