  Yes. You download for free evualation versions, but you have to buy serial numbers/keys to activate the software into a full version.

  Ad Aware : Lavasoft just released a new version of their software. Looks good. Free for personal use too
  
  BSplayer : Video player. On full screen mode nothing happens when you move the mouse unlike windows media player. Can also play some videos that that crash WMP w/o crashing itself.
  
  Hex Editor : Self explanatory
  
  Azureus : Good BT client
  
  mp3gain : Very useful mp3 tool for adjusting the volumes of your mp3s. eg. You have a song whose original volume is very soft, so you turn the volume up. You forget to turn the volume back down, the next song blasts and breaks your windows.
  
  mp3tag : mass mp3 tag editor

  Scribus and Blender are indeed great open source projects, Linux itself is the greatest open source software that I have ever seen.

  wah c the way u install ur com got ram oso become no ram. dont need install so much shit. firstly update all ur drivers, bios n watever. then clear those shit programs u dont use. go msconfig clear those startup shit. u can go task manager and see wat shit programs are running under processes. doing tat, i tink ur com should be quite ok.
