recorded JQ's prog today. the tiao4 zhen1 technical fault in "wen ge hua bei shang yi hao" was a blessing in disguise, as my tape already runs till the end. if this didn't happened, i won't be able to record the entire proper nice song of "wghbsyh" also, but then,
JQ's talking was missed out.
then, at the point of putting in the 2nd tape, i realised that i had wrongly put in the same tape, and the very 1st song : "my way" was over-ride... -
was trying to re-play the tapes of JQ's progm which i recorded yesterday 13/12, but dun know what happened, both tapes totally no sound!!! now i'm not sure whether the cassettes/my radio recorder are(is) faulty..
anyway, JQ said he'd be back on air on 28/12 (sunday) 4-8pm. -
hmmm...was out when JQ came on air. sighzzz....really not fated to listen to his program. Went to catch Infernal Affairs III....quite cheem and puzzling. Heard Tony got the award for best actor. I dunno, I dun find his performance exceptionally good. He is getting too many alocades by just being brooding. Maybe there isn't too much competition to being with.

As for converting the programmes into mp3, it really isn't that difficult after doing some R&D. You will need
1) a cassette player with a line out, preferably with Dolby NR
2) a standard pair of audio cables (RCA to stereo jack)*
3) a PC with a sound card that can record the "line in" input and sufficient disk space
4) mp3 covertor software

Okay... that was a tongue in cheek way to remind you of the copyright laws and stuff like that. after all, 933 is a MediaCorp station and Jieqi is an employee of Mediacorp. It would be a different story altogether if he came to my house and played some CDs using my CD player.

Watched the Golden Horses awards, upset not able to see Tony Leung Was glad for him that he won, I think IA1 was very good performance by him, though I thought Andy Lau would stand a better chance because his role was richer - usually baddie roles are more memorable. Tony's role in IA1 was supposed to be very suppressed so I thought he controlled his "shou1" and "fang4" very well, though I felt some scenes could be done without, eg. the reunion with his ex-girlfriend, unless it had any implications later. Anyway, it took 7 rounds of re-voting before Tony Leung edged out Andy so I guess it is also a form of subtle recognition of Andy? Will have to watch IA3 to decide who is better though.
As for Megan Zheng, was proud of her as the 1st Singaporean to win the Horse, and had a small laugh when I heard her speech which was obviously read off a script (later read that she indeed did it as told by mum who wrote the speech - she even memorised it on the plane and in toilet breaks...typical Singaporean behvr hehe).
Was quite happy to see one of my hosting idols Cai Kang Yong was on a good form that night. His "tribute" to Huang Qiu Sheng was hilarious - instead of the usual crow on his shoulder, he had a small replica of HQS being stabbed in the heart and landed in a pool of blood a-la IA1 on his shoulder. HQS was quite worthy winner too, his role in IA1 was the kind the panel would like. But the atmosphere was a bit dull and uptight, even homeviewers could feel the tension so can imagine how nervous the nominees were.
Only caught a bit of JieQi because was out for most of the day. Was shopping for stuff to dress up my X'mas tree!
Was quite fun lighting it up at night and it looked like the greatest tree I ever saw. Hehe just biased lah...

i didnt catch jieqi's program also, coz out shopping, but while shopping heard 'ta he ta' at this shop which was playing 933, lol, no nid to look at time, i know it was jq hosting.
only caught the last bit of golden horse awd, was happie to see dong fang kuai che performed felt tony leung deserved the awd. i wouldnt say andy was not as gd as him, but there had to be one winner eventually...
watched IA3 that nite as well, i didn't enter the cinema with high expectations, so i wasn't very disappointed. but on the whole, my fave was still the first one...ia2 & 3 were trying to explain too much, got me quite confused....and the way IA3 was filmed, makes it even more confusing, u're brought to & fro in time space, and into and outta illusions......
the show is not exactly very bad lah, there's a scene tat i particularly like, with andy, tony & kelly all in the same room. tink i shdn't elaborate, coz there're pple who hvnt watched this yet -

Don't worry lah, Andy will get his chance soon, since his acting improved so much. I mean, jiang nan ting yi dian, if even Jackie Chan had won it before, then Andy will stand a good chance. I felt the award to Jackie Chan some years ago was more to recognise him for his contribution to movies rather than for his acting. Frankly, Stephen Chow is a much more better actor than Jackie Chan, if you have seen more serious SC's shows before.
For those who had watched IA3, who do you think was better - Tony or Andy? How about the rest? Don't quite understand why Kelly was given so much limelight - she was the only female sandwiched among the 6 guys in the posters. Did she have a much bigger role in IA3 than 1? Her on-screen was much lesser than even Sammi in IA1, if I didn't remember wrongly. Most importantly, was she any good?

As for IA3, he did a good job, probably coz of his role too, as a man who is trying hard to diff between good and bad, and trying to be good man, but got all lost again, (ya, and got me quite lost as well)
the show was mainly him & leon lai.
probably i'll go watch it on vcd once more to try to understand the show again lol
frankly, i couldn't focus on everyone's performance, becoz i was also trying to sort out who is doing what, who is the whose spy, and whose id had already been exposed, and drooling at tony leung =XX.... but my attn was more on andy and tony coz i prefer them. hqs & eric tseng had smaller part in this show.
oh, but i wanna comment on this other guy, the one who acted as sha qiang, he's really cute, brought some comic effects to the show.
yes, kelly had a bigger role than IA 1, she was the only female who appear long enough; sammi had a few sec shot only; carina lau, i think only 1 sec.........

Anyone went to the 2nd chinese independent music fest last nite too?? it's pretty good leh... giving local artistes a chance to sing their own compositions....
there were 5 groups singing... cubicbottle, revv, 933's chong qing, UFM's kening and jason and frens.... heard chong qing mentioning that he will be releasing an album next year...
personally, i quite like cubicbottle... they and their lead singer, huiqi, are wang luo ke shou on rockacola... not bad leh...
esp like the part where cubicbottle's drummer timothy and sara (jason & frens) played... so shiok leh... hehe...
hope that there will be another one next year... -

Well frankly speaking, I'm supportive of Tony Leung..hehe..I'm not biased..actually in that IA1, I wish Andy would die..so pity Tony Leung...Andy's acting skill was good too..coz he made me hate him in that movie.. -

sadly, i couldn't appreciate his music as much. He always send me his demo but I dun really understand them. I think he tries too hard to be different. Hope he dun see this....he'll throw his amplifiers at me!!!
as for the on-going talk about golden horse, I'm like kinda thinking that it has been hongkonged too much. I'm sure Taiwan had a lot more work but due to limited commercial success and exposure, had not been having too much success at the awards. Nowadays, u always see the same guys nominated and winning...dun get me wrong, i really like tony (he is always in my favourite director's movie). But i miss the days when all those obscure movies were winning. It makes me want to go out and watch them, to enjoy the freshness of it. Come'on, even Leon Lai has won one (or was it during the HK film award?)
and yap, throughout the whole of IA3, I was trying to figure out the script, hardly had the time to judge their performances. And yap too, my fave scene was the Kelly, Andy and Tony one. Very well done.
er...just a qns....did tony win for IA1 or IA3? GH was shown only on SCV right?

Leon Lai won Best Actor last year for "3 jin". Tony Leung won for IA1 which fell within GH qualifying period for this year. IA2 and 3 should be for next year.
Many of these Taiwanese films were not shown outside Taiwan so the foreign judges will have a vague impression of it. Of course they are supposed to be unbiased, but as long as the human factor is involved, there is bound to be some subjectivity. The thing is GH needs the more popular HK movies to be nominated so that people will pay attention to it. In the 90s, many awards were won by Taiwanese films which had good reviews but poor takings, and it was not able to create a "gong4 ming2" with the audiences or viewers and affected its ratings and popularity. In fact, this year's awards was almost dropped because of lack of funds, leaving the filmmakers who view it as the most coveted award in Asia shocked, so they started some fund raising campaigns with the locals to get it going.
Another worry is that as the China movie market is starting to open up, the general view is that the already fierce foreign competition (esp from HK) will further subject the Taiwanese movies into obscurity. Then the funding of the mostly independent movies may just dry up and GH, a Taiwanese award ceremony, will end up having no local nominations eventually. -

i hvnt had a chance to watch cubicbottle perform, tho i've heard this band a few years ago........when i was more into local chinese bands..... i lost touch with the band scene already, nowadays also seldom hear such stuff.........
but at that time there was this band, i think they originated from msia, i was very impressed by their live performance, RETROGROOVE... or gu3 shi2...tink one of their members used to perform at muchuan......
and ya, in the olden days
b4 ufm took over 100.3 there was this show by yongmei, gei wo yao gun feng, which featured a number of local bands, and some undergrd bands in hk/tw...i liked tat show then, well, as expected, it couldn't survive long enough....

yah, i do like cubicbottle's songs, wisefool... hehehe... u can tell ur fren and make him proud... ... heard huiqi mentioned that the founder wasn't ard as he's in US working... the world is really small huh... but find huiqi and fangyi real cool... playing the guitar. hope to be able to play guitar as well too... hehe
anyway, besides cubicbottle, got to applaud kening too... she also wrote her own songs... not bad leh...
attitude, actually i dun really keep track of local band scene... just like to listen to live bands and have a few frens playing in bands... dun always know of the events unless it's in the papers...
but it's difficult to get company to go to such events... cos not many of my frens are interested in live bands... they find it too noisy... but i think that it's nice lor... at least those ppl are more real. Not so zuo zuo.... -

I was at premiere last night. Guess who I saw? JIEQI!
Haha..I was so excited..almost could not sleep last night..slept at 2plus..now big panda lor..
Well, sorry to Shervon and Hajime, I still did not say hi to him..avoid the embarrassment..think he will get a shock if I approached him..He was with frens too..I really wanted to take a pic with him with my camera phone..low-profile he is, once the show ended, he was the first to get out of the theatre..
That's a very nice show! Very different from the sketches..but, very sweet and heart-warming. I was a bit blur in the middle of the show, but managed to sort them out when it's nearing the end. Yang qian hua and Tony Leung really acted well in this show..especially Tony Leung..Dinnoe he could be so gao3 xiao4! He and Yang Qian Hua together, is quite a good match.
The songs inside are also very nice..there was one song..I think it's korean song..very nice...looking forward to the sound track. -
haha haven't even watched TurnLeft TurnRight, but anyway just bought the VCD so can watch at home instead hehehe...but got some reviews from friends say it's quite average so won't be having high expectations. I think I will prefer "Di Xia Tie" because got Tony Leung and Zhang Zhen Last time watched some comedies of Tony Leung before so remember he quite gao xiao. In fact it's his gao xiao role in Lu Ding Ji as wei xiao bao which caught my attention. He was very funny in "Tian Xia Wu Shuang" as well...
bbb I think he should be okay if you say hi to him, you won't eat him up anyway!
Am now into watching "Qiang Wei Zhi Lian", quite a cute show, Ella is very ke ai in the show, think she is very suitable for the role. How many episodes are there in all, any idea? -
Well Hajime, is definitely much better!! I like the ending of though..different from the book.

just watched di xia tie... it's soooo much nicer than turn left, turn rite... hehehe... tony leung was so funny.... actually, when talking abt his movie, i will always remember this scene... the one where he took some poison and had his lips as thick as sausage... hehehe... that was so funny.. but can't remember what show is that liao... hehehe....
so, yah, think it's only quite recent that he's been acting such melancholy character ba.... -

That movie is Dong Cheng Xi Jiu, a spoof directed by Wong Jin of Wong Kar Wai's Dong Xie Xi Du. In both shows, Tony played Xi Du.
As for Tony, he was melancholic ever since he started acting in Wong Kar Wai's flims.

hmm... maybe he finds that he's actually melancholic after working with wong kar wai.. saw his interview on yesterday's paper... he seems very shen ao... maybe been thru a lot... so the way he thinks is also quite chim... hmm.... -
I think Tony Leung is quite withdrawn from the ent circle despite his fame. He is very low profile in contrast to the high-profile movies he is involved in. I believe his melancholy and philosophical character was built up over the years. Doing his own things and keep out of matters which do not concern him. Frankly he is quite "jie shen zi ai", not many rumours about him. The last one I recalled was with Zhou Jia Ling somewhile ago but that fizzled out, luckily because I think that woman is really quite erm...hahaha... That's why a lot of people like him, because he is one of the few who do not milk publicity to up his exposure or fame, and very down-to-earth. Needless to say, his devotion to Carina Lau also made many girls (including me hahaha) jealous of her to be able to have this kind of near-perfect man
