  Hi, I understand, maybe both of us have different views about internet romances, that's why we both tend to label it differently. Note my sentence like "unreal and unfulfilling", this really shows my biasness for internet romances

  It happens!
  I've got a fren who chatted with a girl for 6 mths. They became great phone pals like in the movie "When Harry met Sally'.
  When they finally met, the guy was immediately smittened cos she is very pretty. It took him another 1 yr to convince her to be more than friends.

  I agree. Online romance , while fun, can only go so far.

Because from what I've seen, many people behind the computers always have this particular fantasy when chatting with ther other party. In their mind, they like to create a perfect world of the other party, be it they are pretty, intelligent or might be able to fulfil what they have lack in reality. But when they come face to face, they realise that their fantasy might not be what they expected in the cyber world. Disappointments and heartbreaks, that's what I could conclude when they are facing each other.

  I agree, more of cyber relationship which was kept thru virtual communication will lean to unpleasant outcome.

  well if you have seen the pics of the other person, is it still a fantasy about how he/she looks like? And of course you have to really get to know that person...by talking to him/her. If you talk to that person for a while, you will come to understand him well. If you talk to someone continuously for a period of time, I think it will be hard to hide his/her personality. But of course still have to meet. Because taking the effort to meet in real life signifies the effort you put in making it come true...

  So I can guess if this person have already saw his/her pics? Then that's good, because meeting the ppl up would be easier. But you see, from what his tile topic says, he was only having a love before first sight (not even a single sight), that's why my theory would be suitably applied to his situation

  Have read your message, many others as well and think about it as well. Love is a stage of mind, feeling and emotion. If a blind man or woman can fall in love without seeing each other, I guess able to see the other party is not an issue in love.
  
  However, in cyberspace thing get more complex. We can see, touch, feel and hear him/her in the cyberworld. But we can get close to her mind and characters. Slowly I believe many of us do that, we began to paint a mental image of him/her fill it up with detail we like. I wont be surprise knowling we are falling in love with this mental image.
  
  But in order to a real relationship to start, you have to meet her. Not telling her you love her or what. But at least meet her. No real relationship (I am refering to relationship not feeling) can start if we are not physically available to each other fo rthe plain reason that we are living in a physically world.
