if your thinking of failing then quit poly, then remeber to look at the refund policy of the poly that your studying in. try to make a decision within the time frame of your school fees refund policy so as to prevent your parents money from going down the drain.Originally posted by missqi:Sigh.
Decisions.
We'll see.
If I fail anything this sem, i'll quit poly.
Pragmatic.
=)
Lucky i'm a first yr.
sigh.
why will i regret??Originally posted by laoda99:u may regret ur decision of quitting poly.
But gd luck!
A poly cert beats a private diploma anytime. If i were u I will finish the poly dip becoz left one yr only. But then it is up to u.Originally posted by weijian:why will i regret??![]()

thanks for your advice, i really appreciate it.Originally posted by laoda99:A poly cert beats a private diploma anytime. If i were u I will finish the poly dip becoz left one yr only. But then it is up to u.
But if u get private diploma and went on to private uni, then it's ok.
A word of advice for u: govt sectors dun really recognise private degrees, but if u working in private sectors probably will not be a problem.
good tat u know what u want...Originally posted by weijian:thanks for your advice, i really appreciate it.
i have looked into that possibility, and i know the private dip is a uk recognised internationally and with that dip, if i go for a exam with MAS and pass the test then i get to work for Singapore. As in civil sector, why do i have to worry?
if govt don't want me, i can work for private banks, or work for myself.
Afterall the dip that i am taking is wealth related, so definately it wil come in handy.![]()
thank you very muchOriginally posted by laoda99:good tat u know what u want...
good luck on ur endeavours...hope u wont get too much nagging from parents
Money is the not the concern here.Originally posted by weijian:if your thinking of failing then quit poly, then remeber to look at the refund policy of the poly that your studying in. try to make a decision within the time frame of your school fees refund policy so as to prevent your parents money from going down the drain.
whats the course that your studying in poly? is it something that interest you?
if your failing in poly currently, what makes you so sure that you will do well in jc if you still take the same course like in poly?
within this time to the end of this sem, try to think and find out what is your true passion, so as to make life easier for you, as when your learning your passion, you will be keen to always improve yourself and asking more questions rather then struggling in class to catch up with your classmates.
anyway, your a lady, be it how long you take, you still have an advantage over the guys right?
Originally posted by missqi:Money is the not the concern here.
Hmmm.
Yeah.
Errr.
Only 2 months in poly.
Lol.
To be frank I don't know what I want to do, because I'm not really sure about my course now, that's why I wanna do JC.![]()
I meant that I wasn't sure whether I really wanted to do this course or not.Originally posted by weijian:i suggest that you go to your sch's respective website, find out more about the modules that you will be taking for this semester as well as the next year, ask a few of your seniors also.
if you think you don't like it after hearing from them, then drop if you feel like it, but you have to be sure, you have another path waiting for you to start, before you jump out of poly
you wanna do jc, coz you know what you will be studying inside??
do you know that it's more stressful to be in jc then in poly?
if you have no problems with money, then ask if your parents can send you overseas to study in either a college or a degree with just an O lvl cert
if you're still not sure, then ask yourself, what's your ambition since young, did it change. or was it still the same as per before.Originally posted by missqi:I meant that I wasn't sure whether I really wanted to do this course or not.
Sorry. :S
Studying overseas is not an option lah, terrible.
I prefer sg so much more.
Yeah.
I know what i'll be getting into in JC.
Originally posted by -hazardous-:don quit ur poly...get it over and done with...its what u choose to do so there is no point regreting nowthis course is the only choice for me, when i took my O lvl cert 2 yrs back, so basically i am left with no choice.
since now i have found a choice of dip which i like, why not?
...it is not easier in getting a job even if u change...the poly's cert has more "market value" since onli those tad can't get into poly go to those kinda places to get thier de-plo-ma-s....have you tried doing something that you detest alot??
i choose this course, because of yr 3, not yr 2, since now i am taking yr 2, its the modules which i have no interest in, and never will in my life, i even have the feeling that i am gonna repeat at least 2 out of 4 modules that i am taking currently. instead of wasting time, doing something that i hate, in future, grumbling bout the job i'm doing, stress, drepression comes in after that, why can't i settle for something that i enjoy doing?
stay on and work hard...stop thinking of quiting...JIA YOU...all the best
thank youOriginally posted by ^spidee^:I admire you for your courage, I probably wouldn't do it myself. All the best!![]()
I hope so too..Originally posted by weijian:thank you
in the past, maybe i would not quit sch.
but after lots of set backs happen to me, ever since i started to support myself financially a yr ago at the age of 18, i have told myself not to force myself to do things against my will. Its' the number of experiences (being back-stabbed, being cheated of my money) of setbacks which made me who i am today.
i hope you will be lead your own life with your own decision soon.![]()
thanks for your care and concern, i will stick to my policy of doing the things i like.Originally posted by -hazardous-:...i didn't know tad...budden...there are realli very seldom cases where ppl are doing wat they love to do la...budden if u realli went into the course u don like bcuz 2 years back u got no choice den u realli wanna change den think seriously abt it lo...i hv a cousin tad was in around the same situation as u...he repeat O level and even after he repeat he oso don hv much choices and he did wat think of doing wat u wanna do now budden he told himself to make the best outta wat he hv and studied on...anyway...its juz a small comment...u should realli think seroiusly abt it...realli seriously...godd luck

have you misread my post?Originally posted by Ito_^:wus the private dip u are taking now? "wealth related" doesn't describe much..
Wealth related? What is the name of the school that is giving it? Is it well accredited? Is it prestigious?Originally posted by weijian:thanks for your advice, i really appreciate it.

haha! oops my bad.Originally posted by weijian:have you misread my post?
i said i will be taking the private dip after my nsf
now i am trying to earn money, so that i can take private dip, as you know, its expensive, and i can't afford it currently, i would be gald if you can sponsor me now. LOLjust kidding...haha
the dip is wealth management for your info.
there are lots of private dips that you can join too..all you need to do is to take a look in the newspapers, and you will soon find your own private dip/degree soon enough.![]()
haha...i tot of tad too...budden there is a risk la...tads y i ask u to think clearly...i'm sure u'll make the best choice for urself...ur future will be brightOriginally posted by weijian:thanks for your care and concern, i will stick to my policy of doing the things i like.
even if there are seldom cases of ppl doing the things they like, but that doesn't mean i can't do it right?
would you like to do something against your will, get sick, get mc, rest, then get bad name for urself in the work place
OR
would you like to work something that you like, AND work to you doesn't seems to you like work, its is more to you like your hobby, so while others are having monday blues, you are actively doing your work, and you stay in a better condition then other, when its time for recession, you will have lots of assurance, have you thought of this perhaps?
the value of private dip to many are worthless, but to some it's of a certain value, especially when it's international recognised and the dip grads are in demand.Originally posted by Ito_^:haha! oops my bad.
btw..
seriously.. my opinion is..
i think private dips are quite worthless by itself. cuz i took a private dip before entering poly.. so i have basically dual dips on similar things (both IT) so i have the experience to compare.
thanks againOriginally posted by -hazardous-:haha...i tot of tad too...budden there is a risk la...tads y i ask u to think clearly...i'm sure u'll make the best choice for urself...ur future will be bright![]()
