Having expectations is fine, but you have to be realistic about the average guy. You can't always understand them but sometimes you have to accept certain traits. And choosing to date guys with similar opinions about approriate dating behavior will save you alot of trouble.Originally posted by blu_sky:why wrong frequency leh?![]()
i know wine, not beer. We both drink 2 bottles over a time span of 4.5 hours. And of cos, as a gal, i insisted i'm not drinking much. i prob finished 3/4 of a bottle.Originally posted by Fatum:! .... wine is not beer you know ...... I was part-timing as a waiter for some time, and I've never seen any couple on a date finish even ONE bottle of wine before .......
wrong freq cos both of you are reading different things from each other's behaviour, he thinks he's being nice and trying to get close to you, you think he's gotten too close too fast ... obviously does not gel there .... so why bother continuing ......
hope he didn't drink and drive ....
it IS weird ... that may imply a drinking problem ...Originally posted by blu_sky:i know wine, not beer. We both drink 2 bottles over a time span of 4.5 hours. And of cos, as a gal, i insisted i'm not drinking much. i prob finished 3/4 of a bottle.
And you know, on the first date, he had like... hmmmm 6 to 8 mugs of beer. i thought that is weird too. And again, i thought he is a high. Though again, he said he is not.
Rarely i go on date, a guy drink like that unless we are in a pub, which we are not. hey! don't u think that is wierd?
i know what you mean, thats why im here asking for independent opinions on whether my expectation are reasonable. Any comment?Originally posted by choco B:Having expectations is fine, but you have to be realistic about the average guy. *nod ~ maybe i should learn to be less sensitive.Originally posted by choco B:IMO only, abit over-sensitive about the eyes comment. But it could be your wounded ego talking.
Heavy drinking is a deal breaker for me.
Just my opinion.

Yes, i do drink too. And at times, i let my hair down. But drinking more than a couple of glasses on the first few dates is a no-no i think.Originally posted by Fatum:I do know when to stop ....
I didn't when i was young and foolish, but I certainly do now... that's why I drink beer and never ever touch the hard stuff .....
and certainly not on a date, in front of a lady I'm trying to nail ...
then all the more he should know better than that ...Originally posted by blu_sky:Yes, i do drink too. And at times, i let my hair down. But drinking more than a couple of glasses on the first few dates is a no-no i think.
Do you think, as a concerned friend, i should tell him that drinking that much on the first date is not appropriate? btw, he is not getting younger. that could be a reason why....
I wont lower my standards juz cos i'm lonely. I'll do that if my expectations are unreasonable.Originally posted by alexkusu:'dont lower your standards because you are lonely'
I get your drift.Originally posted by alexkusu:remember the story of how the princess kiss the frog and it turns into a prince?
well, perhaps now in society time is running out for some females. Coupled by societal pressures & perceptions that there are not more good guys left, females may unconsciously lower their standards that is virtually impossible to tell a prince and a frog apart.
get my drift? no? its okay..![]()
Of the most questions you've asked... I would agree with Choco that different people would hold different standards and expectations... It can all be quite subjective... Can't really put things into 'right' or 'wrong' unless they're of the too extremes...Originally posted by blu_sky:We juz went to a restaurant. After first bottle of wine, he insisted he wanna order the 2nd bottle cos he can handle it. At the end of the nite, i could tell tat he is high, though he insisted he is fine.

So are you really seeing him as a friend now, or.....?Originally posted by blu_sky:Yes, i do drink too. And at times, i let my hair down. But drinking more than a couple of glasses on the first few dates is a no-no i think.

he is a friend to me now, albeit he has shown abit of interest.Originally posted by Devil1976:So are you really seeing him as a friend now, or.....?
Seems to me like it's vice versa.Originally posted by blu_sky:he is a friend to me now, albeit he has shown abit of interest.
Maybe.... which ever the case is, it is not so nice, cos i am still a new friend to him (only know him are barely 2 weeks).Originally posted by Devil1976:There could be various possible reasons for that....
He might have had something else bothering him on his mind...
It could have been his habit to drink....
An act to build up his courage or confidence...?
He's really comfortable with your company...?
etc...
huh?Originally posted by M©+square:Seems to me like it's vice versa.![]()
