I'm 16, retained student, cannot study type, super super problematic, a few police cases still pending and have no hopes and no plans for my future.
Today, while talking to my aunt.. she talk about, what do i want to be in the future, i told her the fact that i cannot study and do not wish to continue my studies, i know even if i do continue, i would just fail badly.
Their question to me, without 'o' levels, i cannot even work as a taxi driver or a bus driver... and am i going to work odd job for the rest of my life...
I thought so too, what am i going to do, without a degree or a cert, what can i do, i cannot be cao ah beng and eat off my parents for the rest of my life.
I need to achieve something.
I feel useless suddenly...
But i do not want to study too,
I really don't know what to do...
I do not have any "yi zi zhi chang"
or what others called your good points.
I am interested in playing with bikes and driving but that one cannot feed me...
I don't know where to go if i am to leave secondary school now...
My few relatives actually suggest that i go and learn to be barber... but i also not that determined, maybe i cannot think for myself yet la.
Then also, my mother is fully dissapointed in me already, what i do nowadays she also don't care, makes me very sad also...
Am i a failure ?
What should i do...?
What CAN i do ?
Maybe suggest what i should do for now until NS and maybe show me something that could improve my future.

I just read your post and lazy to read the rest since its so damm long. Few suggestions though :
1.) learn to cook and open those mix rice vege store ...
2.) go enquire abt bike course and learn to repair and work in that line since u interested.
3.) same thing as number 2 but in car
4.) do design for logo like cars and etc as i heard this trade from 1 of my friend. But quite tough work in learning and etc ...
If any of the above u interested go pursuit it but however make sure u work hard on it and don give up... if u need more info can private me but not sure if i know. -

A friend of mine now studying in NTU...He is 29 years old or even older..
Guess wat....He went to ITE after N'level....then from ITE...he progressed to poly and eventually after that to NTU.....He took a longer path ....perhaps much longer than everyone but at least he perservere...
Life is not abt results and studies....even u cannot make it initially...it doesn't mean that u will be jobless and useless.....
Find something u like if study really isn't ur type.... Maybe go be a waiter and then learn from the lowest level and then become an apprentice and ultimately a chef....chef earns tons of money that beats all the graduates hands down... so wat does tis means ??? The point is SKILLS !!!! SKILLS cannot be learned from education...SKILLS can be learned in ITE or other informal education....
I am not asking u to be a chef ah....my point is INTEREST...since u are interested in biking and driving...go learn to be machanic then...once u have enough capital...u can open ur own shop and make a name for urself..
DO NOT BE DISHEARTENED and THINK TOO FAR and WORRY TOO MUCH... FOCUS on the short term now...STUDY first and try...if really cannot...ITE...if cannot....go be waiter or be an apprentice...or be a factory operator...with enough time and experience...u will eventually eek out a living and surpass those who even though are blessed with an education but being choosy in their job etc...

You say u like 2 play with bikes, maybe u can be a mechanic or something? Its a skill after all, and in Singapore, as long as u are hardworking and willing 2 learn, u won't starve. If possible, take ur O-levels. That is the minimum requirement.

english(hope can pass)
maths(hope also can pass)
chinese(thinking of dropping to CL 'b'.. chinese CMI)
SS + history(sure fail)
Combined sciences - chem / phy(sure fail)
POA(hope can pass, but alot to memorise)
And you all say i got1 more year, i dun even know if i can pass my sec 3 EOY exam this year. -

either get a tutor and tell him that if he can make you pass 3 olvls give him 5k i am sure there will be teachers that can make you learn. physics and maths is all practice and practice. if you can do ten year series then u are sure to pass.
or, seriously, learn to cook. take courses in bakery if you want. these are lines whereby they dont look at your paper qualifications but on your culinary skills. -

in tis society, qualifications r very impt. so u die die must get ur 'O' level cert, k? keep ur chin up. we r all behind u.
