  My point is, instead of waiting for that hopeless case, why don't you just go after other girls who are waiting for your love or could be better cases? Let's say you wait for 1 year and the girl still has not made her decision, aren't you wasting a lot of your time?
  
  Instead, you could have used this one year of waiting and look for other partners. Don't let the girl make you wait like a fool while she is also looking at other handsome dudes. If she could make you wait, it only proves her respect for you is not much, let alone love.

  Last time I like this girl from the net, talk on the phone only, never met at all, but she got such a wonderful & thoughtful personality that I was really so into her that I said I will marry her and take good care of her for life if she's still single at 30 yrs old, which will be like 2 years from now....... But lost contact already... It's so funny but it's so tragic, I still think of her even though it's already 8 yrs back. *sigh* girls, can't tahan them, but also can't live without them

  Wait ur head lah..If some1 really likes you, they will not let you wait for a long time one. It's just stubborness on the waiting party not to move on n seek greener pastures elsewhere. Yes u can wait, but meantime maybe can look out for others around you who may be more worthwhile of your love for them...

  Well, if only all females are like you, so direct. Some like to lead guys on thinking that they may have a chance but in the end they end up waiting in vain. Sometimes, it's better to hurt a guy this way...

  I waited for a year.. and we're nw rebuilding this relationship.
  
  i guess the reason for the wait is rather important. for me i think it's feasible as our reason to break then was tat she's gg overseas for exchange and IA and does not want to be tied down..
  so @ least it's nt bcos we din love each other..
  
  i decided to wait on for her as i really love her very much, dun think i wan anybody else.. if u talking abt greener pastures, then what if she is the greenest pasture u've come across.. are u gg to just let go of it so easily? i din.. and my wait has finally come to an end..

  if you wait, then you have to expect nothing from the other party. Because she has never asked you to wait. So if you have waited 10 years and nothing comes out of it, then you shall never blame the girl for not responding to you.
  
  If you want to wait, do it without any regrets. and do it without expectation.
  
  Usually there is always a time to continue and a time to stop and let go...my dear always says this, and I find it to be true as well. I think for some cases, the guy will only stop waiting once he finds that there is no more hope (ie the girl got attached, got married etc) or when he finds someone better.

  At the end of the day, if nothing came out of it, what can the other party do to make it up, other than the words "i'm sorry"?

  A girl once to me to wait in secondary 1, and I did.
  
  But by the time O levels came and went, we did talk for a short period of time over the phone/etc, but in the end nothing worked out.
  
  Even if you wait, theres never a sure guarantee that everything will work out the way you envision it to be much later down the road.
