Yup, I used to think Singapore is hot. However nowadays, the temperature is just to my liking.Originally posted by wrexham:so you're only going to wear a jacket when it's below 20 degrees?

YOU ARE THE ONE WHO IS BLINDED
I feel sad for the all schoolgirls in Singapore because someone over here is looking at schoolgirls with the same mentality as looking at a prostitutes.Originally posted by shade343:To sum it up, you are wrong because you have failed to prove the need for the sch to ban coloured undergarments. Worst, you have shown how inhumane you are by condoning the sch's decision to strip girls of their bras. May I remind you that even prostitutes wear bras when they stand at the roadside. There can be no justification for such an unreasonable and preposterous action by the sch.
Did you have a bad childhood to be whining here?Originally posted by babylynn:It's the fact that Singaporean are being too pampered by the living condition they had nowadays...

owells, you don't have to exercise whatever you're trying to "preach" here, boy.
In the past people always say, the school is the second home to the stuents studying there since they spent most of their time in school. If so, you can say the school is also their parents isn't it?Originally posted by shade343:The main issue in this discussion is whether or not the school has a right to interfere in a students private decision. The answer is a clear no. If we start allowing schools to implement any rules to suit their whims and fancies, what would be next? Maybe students must all come to sch with white teeth? (because dirty teeth is a distraction and does not match the sch's white uniform?) And does who dont brush their teeth will have their teeth being plucked out?
Students should come to sch with breaths that smells like mint? Those who dont will be forced fed mentos?
If we continue to allow schs to interfere with a students private life, we might as well appoint the school to be the parents of the students.

You are not the students, you don't understand what they freaking feel. Try coming to our school for a week.
I would sit there and watch you cry when your hair gets chopped.
But the Stomp-er did not complain about the no-colour-bra rule, but the principal's threat to remove their bra. So i don't see why what is all the disputes about.Originally posted by furb:In the past people always say, the school is the second home to the stuents studying there since they spent most of their time in school. Ok, back to the point, you said the main issue in this discussion is whether or not the school has a right to interfere in a students private decision and the answer is a clear no.
I'm not going to say is the answer going to be right or wrong because that is not my point. You said school is not allowed to interfere with students private decision, may I remind you that you said the word 'private'. Which part of bra being seen through the uniform to the public is private? Private means you to your own self, however now it clearly shows that people other then the student, herself, is involved.

Because none of this threat will happen in the first place if the students were to follow the rule, isn't it?Originally posted by TrixCereals:But the Stomp-er did not complain about the no-colour-bra rule, but the principal's threat to remove their bra. I do understand and agree with your point.Originally posted by furb:Because none of this threat will happen in the first place if the students were to follow the rule, isn't it?
Clearly it is an issue with how students is behaving nowadays. This is why there is a dispute on the rule.
Clearly there are some people who fail to see that they can just follow the rule instead of being rebellious.
Like I say, you can be rebellious for all I care, But don't whine about it if you got punished for it. You are in the wrong the first place.
I heard many people say Singapore's law is strict with all those fines, jailling, death sentences and there is caning too. Scary isn't it? But it is through such strict punishments/threats that Singapore maintain its society and it is through this strict punishment/threats that people think twice before doing it.Originally posted by TrixCereals:I do understand and agree with your point.
But despite students breaking the rule, i believe there are alternatives to punishments. Like mentioned earlier in the thread, schools can sell cheap bras to such students.
Just like a criminal convicted of any crime.
Do the law just put him to death? Or offer alternatives like fines and jailing?
