This is going back in a circle. Most people here do not see being a mod as an advantage. Basically, everyone else here has a different perspective/expectation of what a mod is compared to you.
In other words, mods are what they seem to most of us, at least where being a mod is concerned. You have a different idea of what a mod is afterall. -

Whether or not people are naive enough, it's another issue. Perhaps it's time for the moderators to start a thread and state clearly their responsibilities.
This has been done at other forums to prevent misunderstandings.
The best is to state what are your powers, what results in a locked/deleted thread, what sort of replies are expected, etc.
