I haven't got snubbed because I haven't tried, but I had a friend who encountered that and he went to pieces. Had to keep him occupied for some time. -
let's be honest, i think every mother's son out there will agree that they would RATHER be friends with someone prettier at first glance. and it is not anyone's fault if anyone is not extremely beautiful, blessed with flawless skin and a face to die for. so what you can do is to open up yourself and show your classmates that there's more to you than meets the eye.

On the other hand, there're real good looking ones who are 'handicapped' in socialising too...
If your classmates really avoid you because of your looks and figure, don't bother to waste your time with such people...
Last but not least point... Try not to always harbour yourself with thoughts of the guys thinking "you ugly freak, don't talk to me." sort of internal conversation.... It's not healthy... -

I had been ugly all my life. I know what you mean and what mean things people can say and do. Just don't take it too hard and move on. -

Frankly, looks have their fair share of importance and those good lookers do have an advantage but dont worry, concentrate on your strengths and dun short change yourself.
If those people arent worth to be your frens, then don't bother. There are many other people around. -
