let’s say if the boy is Indian skinned, but more Chinese than Indian as he’s mixed blooded, would you judge him by his skin color?
Or would you bother to find out more before discriminating?
True, SG is multi racial, but that doesn’t mean traditional parents would still react strongly against differently colored people.
Your Opinions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
#1. It's the heart and charc that counts, not the skin colour
#2. Religion is a much more sensitive issue than race.
#3. My parents are not traditional, so neither am I.
TS MIA liao.
i will judge the colour of the skin first
because of some incidents when i was young, i now like become racist le
Hmm.. I'm not so much of a racist but i do feel some other races just wanna try very hard to get local chinese girl to prove themself. They often became very yaya papaya. Mostly u see them at the beach with their gf asking them to be in bikini just to showoff... Even my gf can't stand their papaya face..

agree w/ you...
1st its the hearts that counts...
2nd its religion(a sensitive issue)
Be it parents traditional or not i dont think it really matters... the person could try and win the parents hearts... Not much of a problem...
Skin colour is only skin deep... Shouldnt be much of an issue...

you mean to prove in what?
I always try to shrug of discriminatory feelings. And the darker the skinned the more aware of thier presence i will feel. I was quite against people of different colour in a relationship. I actually despised it. Until my own sister was married to one. I was devastated. And had to accept the fact that it can happen , will happen and it can be a good thing. So i guess i have to understand thier culture and try to be in thier shoes. But as long as my sister happy , and nothing happens to her , i will be tolerant .

as long as she takes gd care of your sister and make her happy should be okay... Why you despised inter-racial marriage...
I dont despise inter-racial marriage... I am the product of it... My parents both are from different race, so i am actually fine w/ it...
If you really love that person, you will accept who he/she is regardless of what.
If the person you love truly loves you, he/she will accept who you are regardless of race or religion
Loving someone is not about changing that someone into what we are. Rather its more of embracing the person. Dont brainwash for love.

Haha why judge by colour? Because of certain biases and stereotypes?
My parents mind alot about skin color.
He's the same religion as me, so not a problem.
*sigh*
I say go for it. Having the same beliefs is one major obstacle less to contend with.
Religion discriminate me how? Race is not an issue.
Everyone is racist to a certain extend.
Well if it was my child i would first see if he has a good heart .
If he is very very super kind hearted and love my child very much then ok .
If not sorry . They cant date

yeah , i agree with you !
Personally, I don't think I would discriminate. Friends or love, their character is judged first.

Color blind doesn't mean size unconscious ok.
people might not differentiate color due to color blindedness, but when it comes to size, nothing in the DNA that provides a genetic difficiency on size differentiation.
Which is why fat people are also human.
