imagine, by the sea, then u open up ur container, and offer her a piece of chicken chop...
erm... not so good right.. but if got table chair, some candles, and food on plate.. that is alot more wonderful, but its gonna be troublesome ha...
hmmm well.. i guess since it's first date.. first impression counts so better not.. heh
ANOYM0US: The 1st person I'll probably hit with a chicken is you. :D
As for the rest of the posters, thanks for your kind suggestions, I'll look through it tmr morning. Its late now and I got to get to bed. And you're right, getting a proper answer at this hour is slim!

If you've read my post properly, it's not a 1st date. We had gone out together plenty of times, but that was in the past.
When the necklace I gave her broke when we quarreled, she used to think that it was over for the both of us, but instead she chose to think of it as a new beginning. So the 31st can be considered as a fresh start for us.
If she likes branded stuff, but doesn't expect me or anyone to give it to her, is she considered as materialistic?

Well if you were smart enough, you would be setting up a dinner that you cooked up probably at your place or you could have prepared it first before bringing it outside to a quiet and decent place.
Just get some candles, roast chicken, roast potatoes or boil potatoes, garlic bread, a bottle of wine. Bring along some blankets or whatever to keep each other warm just incase she does catch a cold. This can be held at a park or seaside, whatever places you can figure out in Singapore.
i think if the person is really into u, u dunhaf to think of all the fanciful ideas and crap to amaze and charm her.. just have a dinner at any simple restaurant, go starbucks grab a frap, sit down and chat the nite away..
or just go esplanade there or merlion park there, sit down by the steps and watch the scenery..
oh wait its 31st dec.. u better avoid merlion park and marina sq.. hmm.. my point is, quality talking and listening time instead of flowers and expensive gifts..
just avoid marina sq and marina barrage and what have u on the 31st..
call up the pan pac, oriental or swissotel hotel and book a room... then u two can order some food and sit in the room for a meal and at the same time enjoy the damn fireworks...
After which....... you can send her home and u sleep in the hotel... no hanky panky...

I see where you're going to. I think you're kinda right. I'm killing my brain cells to think of where to go and had always missed out the main objective of us meeting. Yet again, I do not want something too simple. I guess no one wants that right?
I kinda like the Starbucks at One Fulleton, but I guess it would be cramp on the 31st right?
most probably. be there early then.
I guess the plan now is to think of a suitable place for dinner, got to avoid the human traffic.
Pleasing her had always been my task, but I'm running out of ideas haha. I was out clubbing with my sis and her friend (both early 30s) the other day, and they were like teasing me on this stuff, like "Aiyo, how romantic can you be?", "Being romantic got alot of ways 1 ok!". Had that little awkwardness when I'm talking to those experienced LOL.
1) Book a hotel (If no problem for you, you can try swissotel-the 72 storey hotel at raffles city), then order room service for dinner. Confirm not crowded. No human traffic. Then prepare a cake with 1x candle to make the 1st real start of the BGRelationship between you & her....In this case, no need to restart the courtship. Then at night can watch the scenery togather. If you wan, can get red wine or white wine...whichever will do..you may wanna get both....
At the same time, prepare & hide your condy well....prepare 1st....you might not need it anyway....but just in case.....just in case only.....you never know when the spark will comes....be safe than sorry....
2) Make some sandwiches by yourself and prepare candles along with....(fiakz....candles do help....) and go to East Coast park or whichever park that face the sea...
3) Live with the crowd..........

i don't think it should be considered as materialistic... well anyway if you two are/were close then the location doesn't matter much but have an honest conversation =)
Yeah I pretty much guessed so, but I do tease her once in a while due to her over obsession with branded goods.
Its 2 days away, and I'm kinda nervous. I don't know why. :S

You mean boat quay there? There are lots of pubs there, but mostly are caterted to Ang Mohs. There is also a good spot near UOB Plaza (the place where the big chicken statue is) which I think is good to chill as well.
