did i hear someone mention that love is supposed to be unselfish?? but so far how many can be unselfish in love?? I m sure that most of u pple out there r selfish.. if not, humans wun have problems liao... unselfish=sacrificing, giving up, wanting that particular person to be happy.. but how many out there can be sacrificing?? not many i muz say.. not that there is none... but there isn't many...

Even than not many mama nowadays can give that kind of unselfish love.
As for boy-girl instead of parent-child relationships. Yup, I agree not many. Those who are unselfish are often unappreciated, unloved, and even hated by those they love. It's really painful so those unselfish lovers are often single, hermits, or monks. Not that there are none but many of them among us, just that we are unable to see that they are capable of unselfish love. What we see most often is "me me me" or "I I I". My girlfriend don't love ME! They underappreciate ME. "I" don't care, THEY should sacrifice for ME. Need I say more.
Why not turn things around and see what one can do for another's discomfort, to make some one happy even if it hurts like salt on an open wound. I'm kind of dejected over these things, so I'll stop here. -
u say monk but 4get to say nun also... i m gonna "chu jia" coz too many selfish pple out there who onli more concern of themselves then the pple they claim to love...
did anyone ever cum across a person who says that i really juz wan u to be happy.. tat's all I hope for.. but yet wat he has done is hurting u inside ( leaving u )... is this supposed to be selfish or unselfished??

I really can't say that all love are selfish.. there are really those self-sacrificing ones that u seldom see. Maybe at this time it's becoz u dun really get to see it becoz in our lives we do not meet many incidents lately. Rather than for it to come, y can't u be self-sacrificing and set as a example?? Dun think u wanna wait till a day when ur loved one pushes u from the back into a 'long kang', and only when u climb out to see the 'parts' everywhere. and u start picking 'things' up. In ur ears u can only hear words "I'm sorry" by some driver and the police siren. do u want to be the person feeling guilty and remorseful or the one who feels that I loved u and I want the very best be given to u...
I'm willing to be for the 2nd one, be it for a fren, or a family... becoz i know i who cares and loves me.

basically, dun condemn people so quickly lo.........coz there really are loadsa exceptions in life lo.......love itself has quite a few definitions. =))))
i think most of all, it depends on ur personal definition of love. if u think n blif tt love shud b unselfish, all-giving, and sacrificing, then so be it. it will b. to u. but to others who think tt love is selfish, love is blind, it's their own way of defining love lo....
luvofmine: well, if one's way of thinking hasn't changed since 12yrs old, den how can one say tt he/she has grown up? we all change with time lo........the longer we live, the more contact we haf with all kind apple around us, and all kinda thingies n all kinda conflicts. it's thru' such contact, tt we grown n learn, and slowly develop tt form of mature thinking. tt's y it's called experience. if u dun experience nething, how would u expect to learn from nething? =) like they say, u learn from the mistakes u've made. definitely ur experiences are not al perfectly hapi ones. =) rite? -
